Re: [Raw Food] Re: MSM supplements, Mostly Hype or worth the $ ?

My joint pains have also gone since eating raw food. I am about 95%-100% raw,

varies a little

but not much. I also notice some stiffness return with too much salt. Another

thing I have

noticed about two much salt is that it really knocks me out. I feel like I have

been drugged

when I wake up in the morning and no one can wake me up during the night no

matter how they try.

Normally I am a fairly light sleeper. Has anyone else experienced this with

salt.

Greetings Tammy and all,

Yes, you are indeed in good and plentiful company; what you describe is quite

common,

particularly once you've let go of salt for awhile. ANY quantity of salt

dehydrates the system,

at least to some degree. And any substantive dehydration to the system causes it

to " wind down " ,

to protect vital functions. Your being about to think, feel, intuit, walk, run,

or even stay

awake at all are NOT vital functions, in this context. So you feel tired,

disconnected, less

self-aware, less able to think, feel, intuit, etc.

I have heard many, many people talk about feeling tired around mid-afternoon,

and many of them

concluded that they " need protein " (which usually means a protein bar!!!) If

these people would

just drink a nice helping of water and rest for 15-30 minutes, in many cases

they'd bounce right

back.

In almost no case is the feeling of " tiredness " a fuel deficiency, such that

food is required.

Rather, most tiredness arises from dehydration, poor quality and/or inadequate

rest, and/or a

deficiency of water and/or proper or adequate rest (for those who prefer the

language of

" deficiency " :)

Best to all,

Elchanan
