Guest guest
Aside from eating beforehand and bringing my own veggies does anyone have any party advice? Over the weekend, I learned a big lesson about unwittingly coming to a carnivore fest hungry, unprepared, and without my own food. I also wasn't really prepared to deal with explaining myself and my new choices to others, especially as they all sat happily chomping on flesh. I thought there would at least be salad or veggies and dip. But there was nothing, zip, zero, nada...dairy, meat, and soda as far as the eye could see. Thanks! Noelle:)
Guest guest
Hi Noelle, Always bring a large salad or fruit salad with you. People are always happy to see a beautiful fruit salad and that way you know you will have something to eat. You don't need to explain yourself to anyone if you don't want to. You can always say something like, " I felt like eating lightly today " (this works very well in the summertime when many people feel like like eating more lightly but don't often listen to their bodies) or " I felt like having some lovely fruit today " . Sometimes I say I am on a cleansing program. They don't need to know that it's for life. :-) Especially when I'm around people I don't know and I know I won't ever see again I usually don't feel like getting in to my reasons for eating raw. But many times if people ask about what I'm eating I will briefly mention that I eat a raw vegan diet for health reasons. If people seem genuinely curious and respectful I will have a conversation with them about it, if not, I quickly change the subject or excuse myself. I have turned on several people to raw this way. I usually offer to email them some information and then let them take it from there. Guest guest
Besides bringing food to eat, a good thing to do is to eat before you go! That way you aren't so tempted to dig in! Terry
Guest guest
I don't know if this will help you, but everytime I see my uncle, he drills me on the raw food diet. He doesn't understand how one survives on it. I tried giving him a different version of the same answer, but he still asks. However, last time we saw each other, and raw food came up, I simply said that with my stomach, I can't each certain foods. And then with a smile stated that I rather eat light and enjoy good company over getting meat and spending time in the bathroom. That seemed to shut him up. rawfood , " divadolce_rocks " <divadolce_rocks wrote: > > Aside from eating beforehand and bringing my own veggies does anyone > have any party advice? > Over the weekend, I learned a big lesson about unwittingly coming to a > carnivore fest hungry, unprepared, and without my own food. Guest guest
I wonder what he thinks people ate before they discovered and harnessed fire ?!? --- dcbella76 <colleen.grant wrote: > I don't know if this will help you, but everytime I > see my uncle, he > drills me on the raw food diet. Guest guest
I bet you turned people on to raw because of those before/after pics of yours. You're beautiful!
