eating at gatherings

Many years ago I met my husband while in high school. His mother (who

thinks skittles are good for you because they have fruit in them)knew

that I was a vegetarian at the time and would usually make whatever

she was making but would add a small dish for me without the meat. I

say usually because often times there would be nothing for me to eat

or it would just be a small amount of celery or old salad. Even if

someone knows that you have a special diet, make it your

responsibility to bring your own food and something fun to share with

others. Many hosts will make special food just for you, others may

think it is ok, when it really isn't. Just bring your own meal and

just have fun socializing. Getting together shouldn'a always have to

be centered around food.
