Guest guest Posted August 24, 2006 Report Share Posted August 24, 2006 If your sprouted garbanzo hummus is tasting rotten, try making it with less sprout time. I find this too- that if the tails get beyond 1/4 " it tastes funky to me. Also you may try adding more lemon juice or garlic to hide the funky taste. I also add fresh herbs to mine- I do not know what recipe you have but these are just some ideas. Raw almond hummus is a totally different thing, as the almonds never really get tails. You might like this better- I do. Maybe add half almonds to your recipe. Almonds are " sprouted " my merely soaking them overnight and rinsing. Raw almond pate is my favorite raw thing to make. The garbanzo skins can be removed but it is a lot of work! If you use a food processor they will be processed with every thing else.
