Janice's notes from raw food talk

Hi Everybody, I went to this raw food talk 3 times this weekend.

Went on Fri.night, Sat.night and Sun.afternoon.

 

Today it's 6 weeks that I'm 100% raw. I'm feeling so good. I keep

on getting compliments on my skin. Anwyays, here's my notes.

 

Matt Monarch spoke first. Matt is 31 years old but looks like 25.

Matt has a website called www.Rawspirit.org

 

Here's my notes from Matt's talk:

 

Matt said his goal is not to convert people to 100% raw but you can

leave out refined sugar and processed starches. The refined sugar

is like cookies, brownies,etc. The processed starches are like

white rice, pasta, etc.

 

Said the animal protein is acid and that you should leave out red

meat.

 

Said to stay away from cow products. They are mucous forming. Said

goat products are better but Matt stays away from goats products,

too.

 

Matt's main point is: " What you leave out without CHEATING is the

way to ultimate health. " It will give you longevity and increased

energy. There are spiritual benefits in becoming raw. You will be

receptive to spiritual vibration.

 

Then Matt talks about colonics. He does the gravity method. Said

colonics is like a glorified enema. Said that everybody should get

a series of 6 colonics and then one every 6 months after you are

cleaned out. Said the machines are good, too.

 

Matt talks about Fred Bisci. Fred is his business partner and he 75

years old. Dr.Fred is 40 years raw. Said if Dr.Fred would eat a

hamburger he would be dead and Matt has been 100% raw for 6 years

and if he would eat a hamburger he would become real ill.

 

Matt said he juices twice a day. Around 12 to 12:30 pm for his

first juice and then later in the day. Mentioned about Dr.Norman

Walker who lived to 118 years old. Dr.Walker did colonics and

juiced and took no multi-vitamins. Matt said he went 100% raw after

reading Dr.Norman Walker's book called " Become Younger " . Matt uses

the Norwalk juicer. It's $1,500. Another good juicer is the

" Greenstar " juicer. It's under $400.

 

Matt was saying that we need to alkalize our system with greens.

Matt likes romaine lettuce and carrots together and it tastes like

chocolate.

 

Anyways, what Matt says " what you leave out, without CHEATING " is

the way to ultimate health. You also should do the colonics and

also do the juicing every day. Then your blood becomes cleaner and

cleaner and you will become younger. The longer you are 100% raw

the more you will become sensitive to foods rapidly. You will be

pure and clean like a baby. The psychological and emotional issues

will surface. Matt said it's dangerous to yo-yo back and forth from

100% raw to American Standard diet.

 

Said some people may have hair loss. Those people probably ate alot

of fruit. Said to eat fat and alot of greens and you won't have

that problem.

 

Now the other speaker was Angela Stokes. Angela lost 150 lbs.from

300 lbs. Angela is 28 years old and was from England. Angela has a

website called www.rawreform.com and it's existed for 2 1/2 years.

 

Angela lost 105 lbs.the 1st year and was 70% raw. The last 1 1/2

year Angela is 100% raw. Angela said she was ill all the time.

Was on 15 medications at one time. In the year 2000 she had a

diabetes scale but it came out negative. Angela said she was on

thryoid medicine for 13 years. Now she's off the medicine and she

eats alot of seaweed and kelp tablets.

 

Angela gave her 10 TOP Tips:

 

1. I don't say to people to go 100% raw. Go 50% raw at first. You

don't have to know everything at once. Said to eat more vegetables

by weight and not volume.

 

2. Think of it as a lifestyle instead of a diet. It's about

choices. Said don't say " I'm not allowed to eat bread. " Say " I

don't choose to eat bread. "

 

3. Detox happens when you get the bad stuff out of your food plan.

Don't turn back when you get runny nose,asthma, flem in your throat,

etc. That's all part of detox. Don't fall off the bandwagon. All

the old stuff is coming out of your system and you will be helping

yourself in the long run. You won't have degenerative diseases.

 

4. Candada (yeast) Angela said she had candida real bad. Her

digestive system was comprised. Angela ate alot of the high

glycemic fruits like dates and figs. Said she now eats cherries and

berries since they are lower glycemic fruits. Said probiotics, aloe

vera and green juices really helped her digestive system and now

it's in balance. Oh,sugar feeds yeast.

 

5. One green drink a day. That's green juice or you can do green

smoothies or green pudding. Also if you are traveling you can take

a green powder.

 

6. Learn a few basic recipes on the raw food plan. About 7 to 10

recipes. Take it slowly. Take the pressure off yourself.

 

7. Skin brushing. The skin is the biggest elimination organ. Your

skin does regenerate but it's a slow proess. Skin brush every day

before you take a shower. Said infured saunas are good and hot-cold

showers are also good. Said sulfur vegetables are good like

cucumbers, celery, parsley and green pepper. Also MSM caps are the

richest organic sulphurs. There's also a MSM lotion.

 

8. Lunch is Angela's main meal. Angela says that she first eats at

11:30 am. Says she starts off with a green juice and then she eats

lunch around 1 pm. Said she eats mixed salads and or a big salad.

Said the latest she eats is 7 pm. Also said she doesn't eat nuts or

seeds at night.

 

9. Social changes can be scary and isolating. It's challenging to

be raw.

 

10. Feed the change. Be a living example but don't convert other

people. Said if she can do it anyone can.

That is really interesting.

 

I am just starting my raw journey but so far it is all good.

 

I don't understand, why would a hamburger kill Dr.Fred? I would have

thought his body would have an exceptional immune system?

Thanks for sharing. Matt Monarch was close to where I live recently

(about 2 hours away) but I was unable to attend. I did make it to a

talk from the director of the Hippocrates Institute here in Florida but

went away with mixed feelings. I think if I had not already been raw I

wouldn't have made the plunge. I'm not sure why but I just got a weird

feeling about the whole thing. Maybe I need to explore my feelings

about it a little more and then share my thoughts. Anyway, thank you.

You'd think that as bad as some of us felt when first going raw, and detoxing,

that we would never go back.

Also the good feeling we get after the detoxing is over should make us want to

stay raw forever, because once you slip up, it makes you feel bad too. Maybe

it's like people who have other addictive habits. No matter how bad they feel

when they over use, or come down from a high, they still continue to use. Now

my problem is, that I am on a fixed income, have a disability, and usually run

out of raw before I get paid. TV dinners are cheaper than fresh fruits and

vegetables.

This is also the main reason I have trouble being 100% raw. I have a very tight

budget as well and beans & grains are so cheap (even the organics) and filling.

I don't have any problem staying vegan or staying away from processed foods but

I can't seem to afford to be completely raw yet.

What sprouts are a good starter as far as milder taste goes? Is there

a site/chart you can lead me to that may give me an idea?
