Guest guest
This question is for anyone and everyone:) I am in the market for the best juicer for greens. Guest guest
I am new to raw and juicing and bought an omega juicer bexcause it does greens, grasses ,fruits including citrus. it also has a solid plate to make nut butters and such if you are into that type of thing . i have not been disappointed in the least . i heard champions are great too , i can't remember if they do wheatgrass. this was a HUGE splurge for me (i got some birthday $ from ma:) donna_mccrossen <donna_mccrossen wrote: This question is for anyone and everyone:) I am in the market for the best juicer for greens. Guest guest
I've had both juicers (currently have the Omega 4000 and LOVE it). I have never done wheatgrass but I have put every other green through the Champion and the Omega...and it'll work in the Champion if you kinda roll them up to create some firmness to it...The Omega is better at it however. This is my only experience with juicers I think I got a higher yield with the Champion however Jane Edenfield On Sep 2, 2006, at 7:57 PM, Leslee Reeves wrote: > I am new to raw and juicing and bought an omega juicer bexcause it > does greens, grasses ,fruits including citrus. it also has a solid > plate to make nut butters and such if you are into that type of > thing . i have not been disappointed in the least . i heard > champions are great too , i can't remember if they do wheatgrass. > > > >
Guest guest
My experience with the very best price has been with this website http://www.costplusjuicers.com/ ....they are appreciably less than anyone else. Guest guest
I have a Champion and a Green Star/Power/Life (all the same juicer with different attachments. Mine is the basic juicer.). I have found that if you want to get the best bang for your buck and the most juice out of your machine, the Green one is the best. We did a side by side comparison at a raw potluck one day. I also have a Jack LaLane. Someone else brought the Omega. I weighed out 4 ounces of wheatgrass and 4 ounces of carrots for each machine. It was very evident the Green Power did the best job by far. It had the most juice and had the most green juice. Then came the Champion and then the Omega and the J.L.L. It was very noticeable after the G.P. there was hardly any green coming out of the machine and the quantity was about 1/3 - 1/2 less with each machine compared to the G.P. Green Power does all the same things a Champion does and, in my opinion, a better job. Shari
Guest guest
I have the Omega 8005, and I love it. It's way less expensive, mobile, is smaller so it takes up less room, seems to be pretty strong (I've had it around 6 months and it's been heavily used), it's REALLY easy to clean .... my 12 year old son can use it and clean it. It even comes with a blank plate like the champion. I purchased mine from here: http://www.storesonline.com/site/iamhealthyappliances To your health! lala donna_mccrossen <donna_mccrossen wrote: This question is for anyone and everyone:) I am in the market for the best juicer for greens. Guest guest
Where can I get a green power juicer? ~ The place I purchased my Omega from also carries the Green Star. They have really good prices: http://www.storesonline.com/site/520450/product/1 The Green Star is the same thing as the Green Power Juicer, just the new name and new version. The company no longer makes the Green Power. If I had the money, that's definately the one I would have purchased! lala When it is dark enough you can see the stars Talk is cheap. Guest guest
I'm very happy with my greenstar. Think it's one of the best on the market (little/no oxidation as opposed to the centrifugal style juicers, with its slow turning gears, providing low temps as well to not burn off the enzymes, high yield of juice (dry pulp), etc.) I bought mine 2 or 3 years ago from a gentleman who was very helpful. I did alot of research and believe i found the best one for me. Check out vitalityplus1.com I think he has a policy where he'll beat any price. I know i got a great price on it, in the 380.00 range or something. Guest guest
I like my Champion. I got it cheap on ebay, and it does just about everything I could ask for. It does a fantastic job of juicing what I want to juice, and it makes fabulous pates, mushes, nut butters, and more, with its " homogenizing " plate I do understand, via manufacturer's advertisements, that Greenstar may juice greens better. I normally put greens in my Vitamix so that is not a real issue in my life. I have also not ever ever heard many recommendations for the Greenstar (about which I admit I am curious), while you can take precious few steps anywhere, even on the Web, without hearing the praises of the Champion, which is also the MOST mentioned machine in recipe books. The other things that I like about the Champion are that it is made in the US of A, and that, regardless of the " model number " , replacement and " addition " parts are available that will work with it. My particular machine is circa 1975 (it still works fantastically!), and I have a couple of parts bought over the years which work fine. People sell machine parts on ebay because *they will work with whatever you have*!!!!!!! I am confident that, if, in a move, somehow, some part of my machine disappears, I will be able to get a replacement part. I also believe that if a part of my machine should go bad, I will be able to get support from the company and find parts to repair the issue without much technical ability (according to " what people say out there " _ I'm really happy with the service from the company so far.... I've never yet seen anyone trumpet their fantastic happiness with any other juicer... and it took me 20 years to commit to a Champion (yeah, I had a really nice Braun centrifugal for years! ), so that is something... Guest guest
Margaret - you have one of the " good " Champions if it was made around 1975. I have one from that era as well and have only ever replaced the screen. I have a new blade sitting here, but have never used it. We bought ours new around 1980 and sometime after that they started making the " home " version. It is lighter and not as powerful and a disappointment. I like my big old heavy thing! I have had a Green Star for about 12 years and love it as well. While it has been sitting idle for a number of months it was used everyday for those 12 years with minimum maintenance. If I would have known about green smoothies back then I probably would have stuck with the Champ only because I have a small kitchen and not a lot of space. Both machines are equally good at frozen bananas, pates and the like. Shari
Guest guest
It is my dream to someday own a champion and a vita-mix. I tasted a raw soop at a vita-mix demonstration, and fell in love. I have a JuiceMan, a Quesenart, and an Excalibur. I love them all, but it is my desire to expand my horizons. Guest guest
Hi Shari: Why have you not been using your Green Star? I'm quite happy with my Champion, and wish I had gotten one years ago, but the retail price was then about what it is now, and there was no ebay! I would likely have ended up paying full retail when I made the decision to get a Champion, but then Judy mentioned she'd gotten one on ebay, and I decided to give it a go! (Fortunately, Judy stood by me through all my first-timer ebay tribulations, until I got my beatuiful screaming yellow Champion!) I'm glad to hear that I got a good one. I've always thought so. Guest guest
I just haven't been juicing. We decided to stop our daily routine of juicing after reading some of Doug Graham's works. We are eating the whole food instead. Still use it to make cracker " dough " and pates, though. Shari
