Guest guest
Hi Again, My brother likes to gently debate my raw eating and veganism. Can you give me a good argument for this statement he made today? He said that until the past 100 years or so all people ate was an organic diet ( true enough), and that they died at early ages usually under 50. Now he says people are living longer than ever and eating worse than ever. All I could think to say was that yes, people are living longer but they are sicker than ever. Any other helpful info I can pass his way? I was unprepared for this debate. Thanks!!!! Donna Anne
Guest guest
I doubt diet played much of a role in the age a person lived to over 100 years ago. I figure most people eventually died of disease/injury. But I'm not really educated in this area, that's just off the top of my head. Get on board. You're invited to try the new Mail. Guest guest
In my observance, I have come to the conclusion that it is the inner being (the invisible that determines the outer being (the visible). A plastic surgeon once told a woman who just had a complete facial lift that if she didn't change her way of thinking she would end up looking just as she did. This is so true because as we think--we become. My grandmother lived to be almost 100, she ate everything and anything, but she had the best attitude, she was always happy and grateful for everything. She looked forward to each day and live it. Her first time to the hospital was at 97 and when they put her in the nursing home, it was her downfall. My mother is just like her, a very happy and positive person. She is 91, lives in her own home and still drives. Last fall I was at my husband's sister's 90th birthday and I spotted an older lady across the room. She had pure white, spiked hair and wearing bright colored clothes. I worked my way over to her as she literally " glowed with radiance and energy. Sure enough her inner being could surpass some of those in that room that were probably in there 30's. She was 85 and just returned from a 4,000 mile trip up to Alaska and all around Canada in which she did all the driving. WOW, if only I had lived closer to her, I would have loved to hang out with someone like that. Positive people can lift you up and negative people can pull you down. If there is a secret to health and life, it has to be not just what we are eating, but what is eating us. Nothing can surpass a healthy, happy, positive, grateful attitude. We could eat a perfectly 100% raw vegan diet and without the inner peace, we will still struggle. Sharon (who is trying to get rid of all negative thoughts) My brother likes to gently debate my raw eating and veganism. Can you give me a good argument for this statement he made today? There is more information that says this is true than one could read/absorb in a lifetime! I also feel that if we believe the raw foods is the healthiest lifestyle, then we will be healthier than our counterparts who eat junk food all the while regretting it and feeling badly about what they are eating. Another way raw foods helps I believe is that there is evidence that it does contain more nutrients and can help people heal from a lifetime of poor behaviors (no matter what they might be) and from disease that they have obtained for whatever reason. In theory, the raw food holds a higher vibrational quality than other foods and supposedly then brings our bodies into a higher vibrational field helping in many ways. Lastly, I just feel so much better eating raw than I do eating other types of foods, so that's what I use to judge whether it is " helping " or not. But thanks for your post, I think it's so true.
