When something devastating in your life happens – whether it is an

emotional crisis or a physical crisis – it helps to keep telling

yourself, “This won’t last forever!” Repeat it over and over again,

realizing its truth. You will be more able to beat the pain or emotional

stress by saying this. Pretty soon the crisis will pass, and you will be

stronger, for having been able to tolerate the intolerable – without a

crutch! You’re forté will be your own strong will and strength of

character.

My mother used to say; " and this too shall pass " . I have repeated this often and

now my kids say it and are passing it down to their kids. It's true and it

helps. Also it helps to have a " worry bag/box " . If you have a problem/s that's

too much to deal with at the moment, write it/them down, place in the bag/box,

turn it/them over to a higher power, put it away someplace out of sight and

forget about it for awhile. When you open the bag/box at a later date, as you

read through the problems, you will find that many of them have been resolved.

This also works.
