Spinach Scam? - What's next? - Don't get brainwashed!

Dear Good Mood Food Friends,

 

Can you believe all this stupidity about the contaminated spinach,

because a bird might have flown over and dropped on a spinach plant?

 

PLEASE people wake up and think clearly!!!!!!!!!!

 

There is no proof of anything!

One person supposedly died and 93 more got sick in eight different states????

What is that supposed to mean?

About 500.000 people die each year because of wrong treatments in hospitals!

That's about 41.667 people each month and about 1,389 people every day!

So what is more dangerous?

Who knows from what these people really got sick when " they say " that it was

caused by bagged spinach and salad?

Even the hospitals did not confirm and can't say for sure why these people got

sick.

 

Since most bodies contain e-coli bacteria naturally, of course they can grow and

multiply

if the immune system is weak. One can easily come to the conclusion that these

bacteria

must have come from a food source.

And then of course you need your medication (as doctors say!).

These is a scam! Just like last year with the raw almonds!

Now is harvesting time for all the farmers and their best crops in years.

Can you imagine the damage and financial loss to the farmers?

We have to thank all the farmers, especially small farmers, for all their work

growing our

foods!

Would you want only the giants to rule the market and only depend on them?

Who is behind all this?

Does it sound like " they " want to hurt farmers?

Or even get small farmers out of the way so that large farmers buy up the land

and create another monopoly?

Do they want to push all the organic farmers off the market?

 

As LA Times wrote today: The company farm Natural Selection Foods who packages

spinach for more than 30 companies was investigated and is still ongoing,

but nothing could be found and nothing can be proved!

 

Sounds like the same scam as the bird flu, doesn't it?, where hundreds of

thousands

of chickens and other poultry got killed.

Sounds ridiculous, like any other scare and fear tactic.

Possibilities of contamination seem to " them " : Dust blowing over fields,

droppings from

birds

who have eaten tainted cattle droppings, contaminated floodwater and workers

carrying

bacteria on their hands or clothes.

Birds fly everywhere all over the world, but do they only fly in California and

only over

Natural Selection Food's crops that they drop and spread E-coli?

Shall we shoot all the birds now?

 

The main question is here, who profits from it?

Who is the winner at the end?

There's where one has to look into.

There will be the truth!

 

Think logically please!:

Why is it that only the spinach is contaminated?

Does dust blow over just the spinach fields?

Do birds drop only on spinach?

What will be contaminated next?

All the lettuce, the zucchinis, tomatoes, collard greens, kale, celery etc.etc.

sense. Use it for food!

If you can't eat it all, give it to your neighbors or anybody who does not

have the chance to grow something.

I have been eating prepackaged spinach all summer, as a matter of

fact I hav just finished a bag of spinach before they came up with

this scare about eating spinach. i didn't get sick, I eat it raw, i

don't cook it, i just wash it well, I didn't have any fear of eating

it.

I agree! When it was announced on the evening news last night that approx. 100

people have gotten sick, I said to my husband, " I bet 100 people get sick from

eating bagged greens every day, anyway! That doesn't sound like an e-coli

crisis at allt. " I wonder what the real reason is behind the sudden interest by

the FDA in this subject. Maybe they want to irradiate all our produce? (Gawd,

let's not go there....)

Not only that but how many people died today of heart disease brought on by

their diet? If a running tally were carried on TV for that, I think people would

be very surprised. Besides, the hysteria is causing people to focus on spinach.

It wasn't the spinach- it was the germ!- If you believe in germ theory anyway.

Many people now believe that so many are using anti- bac soaps and gels that it

has reduced the normal ability to fight off infection. Couple that with the use

of antibiotics and well-sorry I wont' even go there.

Wash- rinse- eat- repeat, maybe there need to be directions on veggies.

and all that. They were saying that you could

buy frozen or canned. I don't want frozen or canned spinach. I never liked

it cooked, and when I tasted it raw I fell in love. I'd rather have spinach

than lettuce any day

I know what you mean, Tamika. I was in my favorite organic market

today for the first time since the government decree that all the

fresh spinach in the United States should be destroyed. The produce

aisle seemed strange without spinach. I would always get several

bunches--I didn't like getting it bagged, anyway, though I would if I

had to. I went up to the kid who was stocking the bins and said, " I

know this is a stupid question, but do you have any spinach? " He gave

me a half grin and said, " No, we had to throw out all the spinach and

anything else it had come in contact with. " I told him I felt this

was one of the most ignorant things I ever heard--that less than 1%

of the spinach crop was contaminated and everything had to be tossed.

He shrugged like it wasn't him. I went to several places that sell

produce and visited the places where the spinach used to be. I felt

like I was paying my respects. I have enough spinach left for one

more smoothie tomorrow and then who knows when I'll have any more?

You got to be kidding me! ALL spinach in the US be destroyed?! That is

absurd!!! I have eaten 1/2 head everyday in my green smoothies through all of

this and the spinach came from a town very near me and my co-op had it

independently tested for saftey. What idiot sent out that decree? Let me

guess.....oh for the love of mike, why can't they just get rid of the spinach

that is from the field in question. ALL spinach doe not make any sense at all.

No wonder people are doubly horrified when they ask what I'm drinking and I say

" honeydew and spinach " .

You know, I thought the same exact thing. I was so angry that it

wasn't available on the shelves for myself and my clients especially

since I shop at a little organic co-op!!!!

 

 

I remember back when we moved to San Diego a little over 8 years ago

and you could still buy unpasteurized fresh juices and

then.......#^***###.... well you get the idea. Then it was the

watermelon and cantelope scare and then the almond scare!!! Now

this. RIDICULOUS! You know this is right in line with the launching

of STINKMARTS new organic. I just saw where Ralph's in California

has their own brand of organics too. No doubt it is corportate style

organic and away with the little guy farming.

 

We really have to speak up for our rights and not just assume that

someone else will.

 

I am glad to see that everyone on here is on the same page and that

you are just as outraged.

If I could have gotten it, and knew I would have been able to eat all of it I'd

have hit the stores and begged for the spinach they were throwing away, I'd even

have signed a release stating that I wouldn't hold them responsible if I got

sick. It just sickens me to think all that good food went to waste.
