Guest guest
Hi Raw Food friends, I arrived at the Mustard Seed Market in Fairlawn Ohio and had my some options on what type of cholesterol tests I want done. I could pay $10 for just the total cholesterol. Or I could pay $16 for total cholesterol, glucose, HDL (good cholesterol) & cholesterol ratio. Or I could pay $35 for triglycerides, total cholesterol, glucose, HDL, LDL (bad one), VLDL & cholesterol ratio. I decided to have the $16 one done. The nurse drew blood at 10:06 am. Well, I so happy with my cholesterol results. For total cholesterol it was only 153. On July 22 it was 226 and that was about 8 1/2 weeks ago. This Sat.would be 9 weeks. It went down 73 points. I'm so happy. When I went on July 22 I had only the total cholesterol done since it was free. It was from the Speaking of Women's Health Seminar. Anyways, my HDL (good one) is 66. The paper says 50 mg/dl or higher for woman. Happy about that. I think a couple of years ago it was in the 70's. Oh well! The higher the better for the HDL. Now the cholesterol ratio was 2.3. Excellent results for the ratio. The paper says 4.1 or less (goal) 3.5:1 or less. I really think this raw food plan did it. I was heavily eating butter and lean red meat. This is definetely good news and I will continue to stay on the raw/living food plan. Now my glucose was a little low. It was 60 and the paper says 67-115 mg/dl (fasting range) On July 22 I had a good glucose reading of 79. Guess, I can take the bad with the good. The nurse said to have about 5 mini meals a day. Said do I get shaky if I don't eat. Told her no. Asked me about the protein. I may change my breakfast now. I don't eat till 11:30 am. Just have water till 11:30 am. Getting back to what I was saying I told the nurse I eat this green pudding that has the collard greens, green chard for the protein. Said I'm eating hempseeds and sesame seeds for the protein and nuts have protein, too. I'm not too worried. I may call this guy Tom who's doing raw foods for 12 years. Tom is real scientific and he seems to know alot. Tom does consulting and I could show him all my supplements & show him my food diary on what I'm eating. Well, I'm going to call Sue (my co-leader) who's one of my TOPS members. Sue went with me on July 22 when I had my cholesterol reading of 226. Can't wait to break the news to her. Have a good afternoon. Hugs, Janice from Ohio "
