Guest guest
I'll try posting this question again. Can anyone tell me whether you should store dehydrated foods like " mushroom burgers " in the fridge or can you leave them out? Sometimes the foods are still moist in the middle, so I am assuming you need to refrigerate. Also, can you freeze some of these items. I know you will probably lose some of the nutrients, but sometimes we can't eat a whole batch. Or maybe they will last alot longer than I am thinking... Thanks for any info, Beth
Guest guest
The bugers should be stored in the fridge along with anything else that's still moist after dehydrating. Crackers and other things that are completely dry can be stored in the cabinet. I like to put them in a glass jar. I have made burgers several times and had them last at least 10 days. They were still good and I'm sure they would have lasted at least two weeks - but we ate them all up! Freezing will destroy the nutrients so, if you are strict about the amount of raw food you have in your diet, you should take that into consideration. Freezing anything other than berries destroys the enzymes and nutrients, making it no longer a raw food. To Your Health! lala Beth Mouser <mouser4 wrote: I'll try posting this question again. Guest guest
Beth, I have kept the veggie burgers in the fridge -- but have found that if you separate them with paper towels they don't stick together (I put them in a big baggie). They do get soggy, so when I want to eat the left-overs, I put them back in the dehydrator for 2 hours. I have also frozen them with great results, but these are veggie burgers, not mushroom burgers, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't be OK. My food always lasts a lot longer than what a recipe says. My almond milk lasts about 10 days, someone on here posted that it's only good for 3 days. My veggie burgers last over a week in the fridge. My nut cheese lasts a month. Hope that helps. You'll have to post your results! Melanie rawfood , " Beth Mouser " <mouser4 wrote: > > I'll try posting this question again.
