Guest guest
Hi, I've looked at the recommended equipment back posts and researched the Mr. Coffee IDS77. Seems to be mixed reviews including one that mentioned lead in the power cord. Don't know how that would effect the food. But it was mentioned that this model is a blade grinder not burr. I'm hesitant to buy this model. Can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive model, and explain the difference the blade vs. the burr would effect the seeds/nuts? (tends to have oils/fats) Thanks, Judith
Guest guest
Hello Judith I have a Toastmaster grinder right now. It does the job. Before this one, I had a Braun. Both of these were chosen based on what was in the discount store. I was extremely happy with my Braun, but my room-mate destroyed it (don't ask-- it was grim) I think I paid under $15 for the Toastmaster.. more like about $13, I think. If you have a discount store, like an OddLots, or something like that, you can probably find one that will do the job. Care for it, clean it carefully, and it will last you a long time. You are not really going to put it through any serious paces -- just grinding 1/2 or less of dried ingredients (that's the key - keep each " batch " or " load " to @1/2 of the size of the cap-- I measure into the cap - it tends to be 1/2 C) Margaret
