Tommie,

I had read one of his books before and liked it, but after looking at

the web page you listed it reminded me of the many annoying

infomercials you see everyday. I honestly don't think being healthy

needs a magic formula. However, if this works for you and others, then

go for it. Let us know how it goes.

I don't think there's any " magic formula " involved. Some of us need

guidance and some don't. I do. If I hadn't had Roger and Fred a year

ago, I wouldn't be able to tell you today that I've been 100% raw all

that time with only one cooked meal.

As for the healthy living, BES includes much more than that. I'll be

sure to keep you posted!

Hi, Tommie,

I signed up today. I was inspired after hearing Frederic's interview on Raw

Vegan Radio,

and by your endorsment.

I agree, the website is a bot too " infomercial-ish " , but I have the same

criticism of The Best

Day Ever site, too.

I felt I needed a real focused guidance after foundering around on my own for a

while.

I don't think I've ever posted here... I've been lurking for a few months...

I am Emily, I'm 41 and the mother of three (8 yrs, 5 yrs and almost 3). I'm the

only " raw "

one but my husband is very supportive. No major health problems, I'd like to

lose 10-15

pounds (I'm 5'6 " , 134), and even going raw I've lost only about 4# (since

January '06. My

youngest still nurses 2-3x a day, I don't know if that has anything to do with

it) I've been a

vegetarian, with on and off stints as a vegan for for 21 years. I went back to

vegan about

18 months ago, and last spring started to Follow the 'Eat to Live' plan (not

raw). I wanted

to try going raw in 2002 when Roxanne Klein was in the news a lot, but then I

got

pregnant and decided not to change my diet too much at that time. Then last

winter in

VegNews magazine there was na article with vegan athletes, a number of whom

described

themselves as " 80% raw, or 90% raw " , and I thought, what am I waiting for?!

I was 100% raw for about 85 days, then, out of the blue. really started craving

bread

products. I tried some baked pita chips my son had, believing they would taste

like

cardboard to me, but, alas, they were yummy to me! Since then I've had a couple

of slips,

mostly crunchy, dry crispy things- even potato chips- maybe once a week.

I am hoping to put all that behind me now and really get on a " plan " that'll

work for me!

Thanks for your knowledge, Tommie and every one here (I love Judy's blog, like

everyone

else!), and congrats on your one year anniversary, Tommie!

Great, Emily! I didn't really _endorse_ it since I'll be doing it for

the first time along with you! What I've heard from the participants

in the first one is that it's life-changing. When I went to the BES

website http://snipurl.com/s3ui the last time, it was down to nine

openings so you must've gotten in under the wire. Enrollment is

supposed to be open until tomorrow at midnight (don't know which time

zone) but it may have to close soon unless he decides to take more

than the original 150.

The site IS sorta flashy but he has a lot of good information on

there.

You are lucky that your husband is supportive. What about the kids?

Are they interested in eating your way? Maybe after he/they see how

it improves you, they'll want to transition, too.

Nursing should increase your weightloss but your body does what it

wants, pretty much. You didn't say what you are eating so I can't

hazard a guess as to what is going on. One of the perks of BES is a

forum so you'll be able to post there and get more help.

You may not be getting enough calories from sweet fruits to keep the

cravings away. Just a guess.

Sounds like going raw is a natural progression for you as it was for

me. I never thought that I'd be able to do it as quickly as I did,

though.

I have lots to do before I go to bed, so I'd better hush!

Good luck!

http://snipurl.com/s3ui Are you trying this one? It worked for me,

just now. If you can't get there from that one, try the one on my

blog. It's buried in the text on day before yesterday. I didn't put a

permanent link there since it's a time sensitive program.

Hi Tommie,

I know you didn't endorse the program, as such, but I think I've read you

respect Frederic's

'stuff'.

I'm not super concerned with losing weight; I feel great when I eat 'all raw',

and that's what

spurs me on, I just imagined I'd be a skinny rail once I started down this path!

A few

months ago, when I first went raw, I was typically eating a lot of avocados and

nut

cheeses, but now I pretty much have a green smoothie (from Green for Life) for

breakfast,

a salad OR two nori rolls for lunch, and a green smoothie for dinner. If I am

busy and out

of the house I can stay away from snacking on my flax crackers!

I was consistently weighing about 131 for a few weeks, but then I started

excercising

regularly and gained 2 or 3 pounds, but i figured that was muscle and don't

stress about

it. I have noticed when I get to about 129, my hunger level goes up. I thought

maybe it's

because I'm nursing. Anyway, she should stop soon (I hope!). My oldest weaned

himself at

3-and-a-half. I think I've been nursing and/or pregnant for the past 9 years!

My dauhgter, she is two, loves to make, and eat the flax crackers with me, and

she loves

salad. My older kids will eat a salad if it is just cuccumbers and tomatoes, and

my middle

one likes the green smoothies.

My husband would like to go raw a few days a week, but not 'take the plunge' -

yet.
