Guest guest
Morning all, The past couple of days I've been playing around with a $45. Healthy Juicer that I bought from the sproutpeople.com and I thought I'd share my experience with it. It's a hand crank job, and I bought it for wheat grass. I have a big ol Champion Juicer, but those don't work too well for grass & leafy greens, and you even have to be careful feeding celery through it or the strings will choke it up. So, I don't have any wheat grass yet as I've just started sprouting the seeds, but so far I've feed lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, celery, carrots, apples, tomatoes, grapes, and oranges through it. It doesn't do as well as the Champion on the carrots. The chunks that come out are not chewed up enough and you don't get as much juice. But for everything else it works as well or better as far as I can see. I was most surprised by the orange juice. I measured 1 full cup of orange juice from two medium oranges. Yum! And the other thing I love about it is how quiet it is. Well, cabbage can be a little squeaky. (Smile) I'm light and noise sensitive from my fibromyalgia and the Champion motor just grates on my nerves. It's not really that hard to crank. Of course it's not as fast. Another interesting thing is that the juice doesn't seem to separate like it did with the champion juicer. Set up and clean up are about equal in complexity, but the Healthy juicer is light and could easily travel.
