Guest guest
Put about 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar in a cup, the twist any piece of paper into a funnel and put it in the cup, just above the vinegar. They will fly into the cup and can't get back out. I had tons of fruit flies from some bad bananas last year, and put 3 cups around my kitchen. In about a week and a half, they were all gone! Guest guest
I recently had a horrible case of fruit flies. I had hundreds flying my appt. This is what got rid of them: 1. Wash all fruit and put it in the ice box as soon as I get home from shopping. The eggs of the fruit flies live on fruit. 2. Take out the garbage daily. 3. If you have compost, dont let it sit in the house for any length of time. 4. Pour bleach down all drains daily. They tend to breed in the drains. I tried vinegar and it just didn’t work. rawfood , " Sharie " <sdslush wrote: > > Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of them and how to prevent > them? >

Guest guest
For fruit flies that are in you compost, I find it helpful to keep mine in the freezer until it's time to take it out. Keeping the fruit in the frig and held off on sprouting till the flies were gone. My attack came after I tried to sprout some wheat that went bad. My husband had fun picking on my diet when the flies attacked ( mister meat and potato man ) mary > > > > rawfood , " Sharie " <sdslush@> wrote: > > > > Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of them and how to prevent > > them? > > >
Guest guest
Hello, I am new to this group. I am wondering if fruit flies are a common problem among raw food consumers? Thanks Stacy.
