Guest guest
Hi There. I am not sure if this was brought up before , but is it ok to do a cleanse before going raw or if you should do raw first and then cleanse. I realize that changing to raw is a cleansing on it's own but would it be better to do it before hand. If so, which would be better? Juice fast or master cleanse. I would appreciate any kind of advice on this subject.
Guest guest
Hi, Kelly, I wouldn't cleanse before _or_ after going raw. Eating a proper raw food diet is cleansing in itself. As for the juice fast, do you mean juice ONLY fast? Fasting is abstaining from something so a true juice fast would be abstaining from juice. Even though juices are more easily digested, it doesn't mean that what's lost is somehow " disposable " . I'd use the whole food and stay away from the master or any other kind of cleanse. The body goes through a great deal of trauma during a cleanse that really isn't necessary. I like to treat my body with kindness and consideration. Guest guest
I always have told my clients to start a cleanse the day they start raw food. A good cleanse assists your body in dumping toxins quickly and safely. It also helps to push through cravings. I would never EVER recommend the master cleanse and I don't recommend a juice fast to get started. Look, you have umpteen years of toxins built up in your system. Your body has been calling you to get cleaned up which is why you happened to find the raw food diet. There are no coincidences. When you start eating raw foods, within a few days your body starts dumping toxins. If the pathways of elimination are clogged up (and if you have any extra fat on your body then most likely they are), those toxins are going to recirculate creating detox symtoms (nausea, lethargy, headaches, skin erruptions, bad breath, diarrhea, etc...). If you are juicing, you're gonna get hit three times as hard. When I use the word cleanse, I am talking about taking particular herbs that assist your body in the removal of toxins, clear the pathway of elimination (the bowels), and help to rebuild the different body systems. The cleanse that I have the most experience with and the one I therefore always recommend is the Arise and Shine. (www.ariseandshine.com). This cleanse includes liquid bentonite and pysillium which helps to pull toxins with it as it runs through your body. Also, check out Dr. Richard Anderson's site: www.cleanse.net Go to the articles page and read up on cleansing.... Also, read Dr. Anderson's book, " Cleanse and Purify Thyself: Book 1 " . You will get a lot of answers there. So, that's what I would do (and did!). Paula kelly_skok <theskoks rawfood Tuesday, November 14, 2006 5:59:33 PM [Raw Food] cleanse before raw Hi There. Guest guest
Hi Kelly I completely agree that it is favorable to do a cleanse before and/or while starting a raw program. Dr Anderson's program can be done as a home cleanse and his herbs and booklet suggest alkaline foods that are raw. The " diet " he suggests is clearly laid out with times, foods if you choose, herbs, and colonics. I have done 5 cleanses and will be doing more. I read Dr Anderson's books and did 2 cleanses in Thailand and 3 cleanses at my home. The book is very thorough, helpful, and has references. Find a to correspond with to discuss with others that have done cleanses.
