For only relatively brief periods can the body withstand the strain of

shifting into “overdrive,” emotionally speaking. The body can adjust to

occasional emotional extremes in response to unusual circumstances. But

when emotional outburst become a regular and repetitive part of one’s

life, it becomes progressively more difficult for the body to adjust.

Excessive emotionalism is a danger to the individual – which, if

prolonged – will surely impair and undermine health.
