Hello everyone,

I have a friend who has sent me the following email, requesting info as to

whether the raw

food diet will help her. I suggested she send me the info and will pass it on

the experts.

Thanks so much in advance

Here it is:

I have PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) and as a result have a metabolic

problem referred

to as Syndrome X. What this means simply is that I break down carbohydrates into

sugars,

predisposing me to type 2 diabetes, hypertension and I am insulin resistant. I

carry extra

weight directly under by breast line and find it almost impossible to lose

weight. I need to be

aware of my blood sugar levels so fruit in large quantities is not the best

thing for me. I have

been advised by doctors and nutritionists that a high protein, low carb diet,

such as Atkins, is

my best option. I am looking for an alternative to this diet option.

Margo
