Guest guest
WOW you folks have been at it a loooong time, congrats! I was clean and sober from May 28, 1987 - April 3, 1999 or for those of you doing the math, I fell off in the 11th month of my 11th year ie just shy of turning twelve years. Funny thing tho, I haven't desired a drink since I've begun exploring the whole " raw food " dealio plus simultaneously dropped ten pounds just in the past month, and all from just reading you people's posts on this list just to see what may start to at least infiltrate my psuedo brain during the times I'm at the screen reading mail anyway... Well okay, a little more than that too via actually following along and making gradual changes according to the tidbits I'm picking up from here already. It's been tremendously informative so far, to say the least, right up to recent posts on candida which I'd never even heard about before but, um, certainly explains a few things too.... To wit, along with dietary changes, I'd started a colon cleanse in capsule form week before last and after about a week, felt like I was being attacked by an itch-weed, headachy and such. Don't know if there's a real correlation but sure matches up. On a final positive note, my sleep apnea is on an immediately progressive decline in that I've finally begun to dream again which means I'm able to stay asleep long enough to enter REM sleep which has had a tremendous impact on my usual fatique and level of energy during the day, as well, plus I've stopped being plaqued by persistant colds and the like as if in a flinch. And so for whatever other improvements this will ultimately impact to my blood pressure, heart and other systems, well, I'm only further encouraged and wish to extend my thanks for planting such hopeful seeds in my life, yeah, I'm just another old rock n' roller getting ready to turn 45 on my next birthday (January) so maybe I'll get a vega-mix while I'm already at it and reading about those here, too --- LOL. Thanks again for everything. And I mean literally..... ___ DK

Friday, 11/24/2006 was my 12 year birthday, the only " real " birthday I can truly count. But from being of Irish heritage and a native San Franciscan (having survived the Haight-Ashbury and the 70's too) I will never forget my last " cold-one " -- it didn't taste right for my stomach was bleeding and I didn't know it! I just switched seats after that but was still on the " Titanic " as they say... That was on 2-21-1989 Oh, the reference to Jimmy-K is listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Kinnon -- " Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing. Guest guest
Kewl, I did not know about Jimmy K. Sounds like we're about the same age. I too lived through the '70s. In fact I was living in SFO between '73 - '76 working as a flight attendant by day and by night........................I can easily fit in either meeting on any given day.
