At Thu, 30 Nov 2006 it looks like Tiffany composed:

degree, otherwise it wouldn't be hard to quit any kind of substance abuse.

Likewise, if we didn't have addictive personalities to some degree, I think it

would be a bit more difficult to get into the raw food habit at first.

Recovery just gears us toward the winners and more natural. I think it is how

deep we work our programs... what do you think? Seems just a natural

progression.

Hmm,

In my (flavor) of 12-Step meetings, we have a saying that goes like this:

" One is too many, and a thousand is never enough! "

And that seems to go well with the food once you have some " clean-time "

and ever think of " just one bite of pizza " etc.

After about 3 years of basically a vegatarian diet, I went back to

eating meat in June-2006 for a 6-month period till the end of

December-2006.

This was after reading a little about the people of Okinawa and the book

called http://okinawaprogram.com/ , it seems they have always ate fish

and meat and it just sparked an interest to do a little study of my own.

I've kept all my blood work and stats from weightlifting and the likes

and one thing is, I'll be glad to revert back.

The first few days and weeks were hell with my old " habits " coming back.

I did find great gains at the gym weightlifting, very large gains. That

surprised me for I was always under the impression that " protein is

protein " and I'm still not sure about the weightlifting gains till I go

back to veggies and see if I can still lift the weight I did and still

do on a regular basis.

I'm 51 years old, weigh 230-lbs and did an all time best of 345-lbs on the bench

press.

My urine immediately stank to all hell - (bleh)

I needed to start using more deordorant - (duh)

And with the resulting blood work in a few weeks, will check my PSA

levels and my cholestoral levels too.

I have still been drinking my wheatgrass juice but the funny this is

that once I started back to eating meat, my " urge " to drink wheatgrass

and eat veggies diminished -- funny -- like my inner soul was being

brainwashed or something. Weird.

I have blood work going back to when I was basically RAW and doing

BIKRAM Yoga three times a week, my cholesterol was at 145.

Then right before going back on meat, it was at 175.

Sooooo, stay tuned for my own version of " SuperSize ME! " (giggle)

Namaste
