Guest guest
Steven has a science project do around the middle of January. I was thinking of instead of the usual volcanoes, solar systems or even (which I saw as a title) why our veins are blue but bleeds red or do children of smokers have more illness, etc. I was thinking of having him go raw vegan for 30 days. My son Steven is very hyper and is very over active in school. He is also not doing well in his school work....yes I know it is his diet. I think this project will be a blessing in disguise. I can ask his teachers how is he doing in school, is he more focus? More quite in class, etc. I want your honest opinions on this. His title will be something like…. will going raw vegan (no sugar or diary) for 30 days improve my school work and make me a calmer child. I am still working on the topic. I have another question. Raw Vegan is that mostly raw with a little bit of cooked veggies? I thank you in advance for your response. I don't think anyone in this area has done a project like this. I want to give you of some of the topics they have given the kids. *Why do oranges have seeds? * Why do we need thumbs? * Which gum forms larger bubbles- gum with sugar or sugar free gum * Which type of breath mint leaves your mouth feeling cooler? * Since sugarless gum is sold in smaller packages, do you get less gum? The list goes on and on. I look forward to your responses. Guest guest
-Hi! My name is Shawna Stursa! This is my very first post in this comunity! Hello All! There is so much respectful energy here! I love it! I am a clinical assistant to Dr. Gabriel Cousens and I am a current MA student of Gabriel and Prof. David Wolfe. I am a 100% Spiritual Raw-Foodist. Putting your son on raw foods is an excellent idea! I was blessed to be here at Gabriel's Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center when the documentary " Raw for 30 Days " was filmed, earlier this year. A group of diabetic individuals came here to the Tree and lived a 100% raw-food spiritually supported lifestyle for 30 days. The results were beautiful, of course! This documentary is coming along nicely and should be out soon. I do feel that you need to be eating the same as your son. Remember that this lifestyle is very emotionally detoxing in addition to physical detox. Therefore, you will need to be providing the extra spiritual/emotional support, for your son and yourself, that is needed when other than eating cooked food. Also, 80% of the diet being raw is considered a " raw-foodist " , generally. Eduacate yourself on a healthy raw diet (if you are not alrealy). Be prepared! Let me know how I may be of service! Blessings! Love and Peace, Shawna -- In rawfood , " Michele " <mjacobs wrote: > > Steven has a science project do around the middle of January. Guest guest
I am so sorry for the late response. I have been sick and have been in my bed instead of in front of the computer. Steven is 8 years old. I think we are going to let him go raw for 7 days and have him write how he feels each day. We will do research on other children that have been raw and how it has changed their behavior. I think it will be good for him. Steven has never been a meat eater. He just has the issue with junk food. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks to all who have responded. If you have any more ideas please post or email me. Thanks a million. Guest guest
Hi All, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have decided to not do the raw science project for Steven. We are doing something with popcorn. [] Time creeped up on us. His project is due in 2 weeks. I don't think that would be enough time to document any changes in his behavior, etc. I am still trying to transition Steven to at least 80% raw. I really don't think it will be to hard. Steven has never been a meat eater. Sweets we do have a problem with. I just have to find something to replace the sugar craves. Thanks again for all your help on this. I will still document Steven and my journey in this lifestyle on my blog. Right now I am on a 40 day juice fast. After the fast we are surging ahead in this wonderful way of eating.
