Guest guest
Hi, I saw in several posts that people are eating cooked food because of time. Good news I found a solution. My days are always hectic because I have a husband, wife, and 4 kids. They are not raw or even vegitarian. So I bought 2 little lunch bag and fill it with snacks that all travel well, nuts, seeds, bottled water, and dehydrated whatever is available plus any flax crackers and such. I carry one with me when I leave the house and leave one inside the house for comming home tired. That way I have a handy snack made so I am not tempted while cooking for every one else. Then I usually eat salad or a smoothie if I am still hungry. Either way it kills the hunger and allows me the time to get everything going befor reaching for that buttered bread or other SAD stuff. Hope this helps Joysain
Guest guest
Why not just carry around bananas and save all that work? Just a thought ... Guest guest
Bannanas in the car is a bad idea for me, either they get squished or forgotten and if you go a whole bunch it gets really old to eat them comstantly Joysain rawfood , " Elchanan " <Elchanan wrote: > > Why not just carry around bananas and save all that work? Guest guest
Do you have time one day a week to make food? Perhaps you could get kids or a girlfriend or two involved. Make a pate, and some salad dressing, perhaps something sweet. Soups are usually pretty easy and fast. There's also fresh veggie juice which you can add avocado to, perhaps some spices like garlic, jalepeno pepper, etc to make a nice thick soup. Guest guest
Okay, pick any self-contained fruit ... grapes, oranges, etc. Personally, I've learned where to put the bananas, and I simply developed a tiny bit of awareness and new habit around this. Guest guest
so go in the list recipe files and find something you can make and carry with you... there are a lot of bars and " cookies " , and other finger foods.... not to mention the fact that " patties " dehydrated longer than they should have been are easily carry-able. I have a bag full of a " mistake " -- apparently the estimable contributor's Excalibur works more slowly than mine does, or else she dehydrates at lower than 105 degrees..... Other ideas available upon request. If I have to go places with people, I usually like to take my corn crackers because they really smell wonderful, so people get curious. I do them with " Tommie's Cheddar Cheese " (recipe in the files), and it is very very yummy. I take extra because people want to try it and want seconds. Fruit is good. Nut or seed balls you make with nuts or seeds and raisins or dates are good and feel like candy. (of course, there are some people who would disagree with the food combination, but they won't have to eat it, will they?) Troll the recipes. You'll find something fun.
