Hello everyone,

A visit to my naturopath has prompted me to question you all about green

smoothies. I had

been giving some to my 1 year old with very minimal greens and my naturopath

said that the

combination of fruit and greens was not good for him as the fruit wants to

digest quickly but

can't because the veges dont digest as quickly and was causing him to have

constipation.

What are your thoughts?

Hi Hinarera,

My understanding is this would be the case with the denser greens

like kale and collards, etc. Not sure if the tender lettuces have

the same issue. Another thing about smoothies is because they

aren't chewed, they don't digest quite as well as whole foods. They

are also eaten much faster than you would eat that same amount of

food if you chewed it.

I don't have kids or know the specifics about the best foods for

babies. There is a great raw midwife and mom with a web site and

she's also on the discussion group " Path of Health. " Here are the

links:

Good luck,

Hinarera,

I don't think anyone would be able to reliably tell you anything

without knowing exactly what you are putting in ...

" green vegetables " and " fruit " is not very specific.

there are some things that don't go together and other things do.

All you have given us, at this point is " I put something together with

something " , which is not much better than " I put food in the blender " .

If you, in fact, want to investigate the concept of food combining,

please feel free to investigate the list files on food combining

http://tinyurl.com/yc8dpt

this should take you directly to the list's food combining files..

otherwise go to rawfood/files and look for food

management, and then nutrition, and keep following for natural hygiene

just take responsibility, and you will get there.
