Guest guest
Greetings all, I am new to this forum and just wanted to say hello. My wife and I have been 100% raw for 1 year now, though we have been studying the vitarian lifestyle for much longer. I have recently made a major break through in that I have finally lost all desire for dead and devitalized (non)foods. We are trying to make the shift to 100% living (vitarian) foods, but have not yet made this leap from 100% raw. Many are unaware of the difference, but it is a great one. As most of you probably know, living foods are full of life force (as nature made them), and non-living foods (even when un-cooked) are often devoid of the vital life force which our cells need so much. One thing we are lacking is fellowship with others who share a passion for the living foods lifestyle. Our major inspirations have been: Dr. Johnny Lovewisdom MD PhD Dr. Gabriel Cousens MD PhD Dr. Richard Anderson ND PhD Dr. Elton Baker MD PhD Viktoras Kulvinskas Ann Wigmore Other Inspirations: David Wolfe Brian Clement & Theresa DiGeronimo Victoria Boutenko & Family Matthew Kenney & Sarma Melngailis Rose Calabro Alissa Cohen We are very glad to have found this forum and look forward to correspondence. Blessings to all and a totally r-awesome holiday! Peace be with you all, Anthony S.
Guest guest
Hi Anthony, Vitarian don't eat dates or bananas, right? dried/hybridized foods, yah? I have this book, Secrets of an Alkaline Body by Annie and David Jubb that discuses that, taking kirlian photos of foods. *That* book, however, is poorly written/edited--I wonder if their other Lifefood book is any better. Anyway, any places online to read up about those concepts? I'm not sure I agree, but education is the power to know for sure where you stand. Thanks : ) Jen rawfood , " Anthony " <tasiwik wrote: > > Greetings all, > > I am new to this forum and just wanted to say hello. Guest guest
Dear Jen, Absolutely, education is the key. Many who follow the SAD (Standard American Diet) and lifestyle do so for no other reason than that they lack the knowledge to make themselves truly healthy. Corporate food industry, by way of mass media, has done a great job spreading misinformation to the masses. They would have us believe that it is necessary to cause suffering and death in order to live, even though scientific evidence abounds to the contrary. As far as I am aware, vitarian food is any food that has not been devitalized by heat, frost, time, or any other means, including dehydration. That would also mean fresh juice only, as juice begins to lose it's vitality within minuets after it is juiced. It would also mean no seeds or nuts that are not sprouted. If a seed or nut can not sprout then it is devoid of life force. It is the vital life force of the food that is crucial to the vitarian diet. This life force is also crucial to human cellular health. It would most certainly exclude any non- organic or genetically modified foods. I have not herd anything which suggests not to eat dates or bananas, although some have recommended limiting intake of these foods to a few times a week, if only to encourage a variety of fresh fruits in the diet. The vitarian diet would most certainly exclude any pre-processed foods. The standard live-food " rules " of digestive food combining and cultivation of healthy flora would also apply. I am not sure how much information is available online about the vitarian path, however I can give you a few titles to look out for. The first book I would recommend to everyone is " Survival Into the 21st Century " by Viktoras Kulvinskas: http://www.amazon.com/Survival-into-Twenty-First- Century/dp/0933278047 SEE: http://www.naturalusa.com/viktor/ This book presents information vital to anyone embracing the raw/living food lifestyle, and includes a transformational program which takes the reader from the SAD through vitarianism and beyond. The best thing about it is that he shows you how to form your own transitional program regardless of where you are at now, so that anyone can begin improving their health now. Also included are very enlightening sections on Detoxification, Yoga and Healing. Viktorus has been vitarian (100% living foods) for well over 30 years. Viktoras also runs a healing sanctuary in Arkansas where he teaches live food preparation, detoxification, healing, and more. Another excellent source of information on the vitarian/living foods lifestyle would be Dr. Ann Wigmore's " The Hippocrates Diet and Health Program. " http://www.amazon.com/Hippocrates-Diet-Health-Program/dp/0895292238 SEE: http://www.annwigmore.com/ Dr. Wigmore was a most astounding woman who personally guided thousands of people in successfully healing their own cancers, and other " incurable " dis-eases of the body, through the living foods diet. Ann and Viktorus founded the Hippocrates Health Institute, which is a healing and detoxification center as well as an educational institution which teaches the living foods lifestyle through a very specific program. The institute is not cheap, but the book mentioned above reveals the entire program which can be done by anyone at home. The HIP (Hippocrates) Diet is the only diet I know of that has been tested and confirmed scientifically to produce rejuvenation and regeneration of human cells from 100% living foods. The diet give you 100% of the nutrition your body needs while also promoting gradual and natural detoxification. The Hippocrates Health Program includes more than the living foods diet alone. Proper exercise, rest, and relaxation are also important. The institute teaches many various forms of self-healing, and provides many other resources for the serious health seeker. In my opinion, the Hippocrates diet is the ideal example of a vitarian diet. If you are interested in the latest scientific and medical research which validates the integrity of the raw/living foods diet and lifestyle see the work of Dr. Gabriel Cousens MD. SEE: http://www.treeoflife.nu/ Some of his books which I have found extremely informative and very inspiring were: --- " Spiritual Nutrition: Six Foundations for Spiritual Life and the Awakening of Kundalini " http://www.amazon.com/Spiritual-Nutrition-Foundations-Awakening- Kundalini/dp/1556434995/sr=8-4/qid=1165519495/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4/104- 2458353-7845513?ie=UTF8 & s=books --- " The Raw Secrets: The Raw Vegan Diet in the Real World " http://www.amazon.com/Raw-Secrets-Vegan-Diet- World/dp/0973093005/sr=8-7/qid=1165521964/ref=pd_bbs_7/104-2458353- 7845513?ie=UTF8 & s=books --- " Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine " http://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-Live-Food-Cuisine-Gabriel- Cousens/dp/1556434650/sr=8-2/qid=1165522037/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/104- 2458353-7845513?ie=UTF8 & s=books --- " Conscious Eating " http://www.amazon.com/Conscious-Eating-Gabriel- Cousens/dp/1556432852/sr=8-1/qid=1165522091/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-2458353- 7845513?ie=UTF8 & s=books --- Peace be with you. I am one of those who tend to get cranky when reading poorly written and/or poorly edited material. I realize that I do have rather high standards: I expect material to be well written and edited just as much as I expect the tailor to do a good job on my alterations, or the chef in the restaurant to make good high-quality food. I expect people I am paying to do a good job., just as they expect me to do a good job. > Anyway, any places online to read up about those concepts? I'm not > sure I agree, but education is the power to know for sure where you > stand. I just did a search on dogpile.com... there seem to be a lot of Polish language sites but few in English. Anthony's inspirations are common to raw foodists. What little I saw of the Polish site listings from my search for " vitarian " (I don't speak Polish) mentioned " Live Foods " or " Living Foods " (in English). Gee... that is what we have been talking about here, isn't it? Margaret > > rawfood , " Anthony " <tasiwik@> wrote: > > I am new to this forum and just wanted to say hello.
