Hi Theresa,

Yes, blended foods are the same, in the sense that we keep all of the food.

I generally teach people to eat the whole foods whole -- chewing well, you

know. Chewing is definitely a part of the digestive process. But blended

foods, if the ingredients are high quality (ripe, fresh, no poisons, etc.),

are very healthful, as well. It's all a matter of degree ... what is

" optimal " , what we need to do for convenience, what we just plain enjoy. For

example, I sometimes eat a smoothie, simply because I love it. It's made of

bananas, blackberries, strawberries, and about 1/4 lime (peeled). It's not a

perfect food combination, I know this (sweet fruits mixed with acid fruits).

But as I said, I love it. And compared with what I ate 10 years ago --

Burger King, chocolate fudge cake, you know -- this is light years better!!!

So we can learn and know what is " optimal " , and then we can choose to get as

close to that as we wish.

And of course, I always like to remind people that food is just one aspect

of health. We need activity, sunshine, rest, etc. One is never a substitute

for another.

Hope this helps! Thanks for writing to me, Elchanan

PS I write most of my posts in another group, called PathOfHealth. It's

really a most wonderful group, the quality of the discussions is often

amazing. You may wish to join and check it out for a bit.

Your have answered my ?? on juice, smoothie or soup I even thought about it

and when made in a blender they could all be the same. But what about being

healthly. They are easy to make in a blender more so then a juicer less

clean up.
