Guest guest
Not sure what this was about, but it has my name on it. I did not ask about anyone being from Florida. But I can tell you I'm from WINDY RAINY Washington state. Shari
Guest guest
My sister is from WINDY RAINY Washington state, too, and has been without power for a week tonight. She and her husband are holed up in a motel until it comes back on which is supposed to be Saturday night. Another sister and her husband spent last night in a motel on their way to ::shudder:: DENVER to spend Christmas with their son. They haven't run into snow yet but they will if they continue on. Guest guest
Tommie - I feel for your sister. Luckily our utility company has a disaster plan in place, but have read that the other, larger company, does not and it really shows. They are really taking some flak for this and I'm sure there will be reprecussions. They are even starting to blame the homeowners in a couple areas. Apparently the power company went to the areas earlier in the year and wanted to trim and thin the trees out and the homeowners wouldn't let them. Well, now there are trees down everywhere around them and the company is taking their sweet time about getting there because... " we told you so " . So childish. So where are the folks from that are heading to Denver? They say the Denver airport won't be open until Saturday at the earliest and then they've got all that back up to catch up on so I figure if you are scheduled to fly out on Thursday, you might get out on Monday IF everything goes right. ALL flights from Seattle to Denver are cancelled until Saturday. I remember storms like this when I was flying and I'm here to tell you, if you ever have to fly it is NOT the flight attendant's fault your flight is delayed or cancelled. Please be nice to them, they are doing the best they can as are all the ground personnel. Shari

Guest guest
Sounds like the larger company _is_ a disaster. They went to the house today and cleaned out their large freezer and two fridges. They had lots of spoiled food to toss. My other sister and her husband are from NC. They're stopped in Hayes, KS. They wanted to go as far as Colby but the roads are closed from Colby on. They were afraid they couldn't find a place to stay if they went any farther. Hopefully, the roads will be open tomorrow. The storm is supposed to be winding down. At least they are in better shape than the people at the airport. It's the people who have the least to do with any situation that are on the " front lines " and get ragged. My staff gets the flak when the other departments are the culprits. They have to be the diplomats and smile smile smile. Tommie http://reallyrawfood.com rawfood , " SV " <shavig wrote: > > Tommie - I feel for your sister.
