Guest guest
<<It's been a very long time since he's had a BM after each feeding, even when solely breastfed, which has leads me to look at my own diet. >> I have been reading this thread with much interest, as I am a breastfeeding mom too. I have breastfed all five of my children for a minimum of 18 months, but most of them until 21 months. So, I have a bit of experience to draw from. I do not introduce ANY foods until after they are 1yr old, and even then they are mostly breastfed. My 17 mos old eats a few bites of fruit that I am eating, or a few sips of smoothie each day, but the rest is breastmilk. In the past, before I found raw foods, my babies would only have bowel movements once every few days. Everyone that has experience in breastfeeding would tell me that it is normal for a breastfed baby to have his/her own pattern of frequency in bowel movements. Therefore it was up to the baby's body to decide when to have a movement. However, when I switched from SAD to 100% Raw, my baby would have a bowel movement for 9 out of 10 diaper changes! I cloth diaper, so I definitely noticed the changes! I couldn't believe the difference! The change was so drastic that it was nearly unbelievable! I now believe, based on my experience, that babies do not have bm's due to their personal " pattern " , but instead it is based on what their mother is eating. I think if you were to try 100% raw, and exclusive breastfeeding, you would see some phenomenal changes. This is my experience, and I hope you find what you need for you and your baby to be well. Guest guest
Hi Lacey, I did the same as you in that I didn't give my son solids until he was 1 year old. It took him awhile before he was even interested in food. He is still mostly breastfed at 16.5 months. Your experience with your children's BMs before you going raw is the same as what I've been experiencing. Did you go raw while nursing? Jennifer ~ I make milk.
