Remember how hard it can be to find that table or that chart you were looking for? This greatly simplifies that task. Compared to many (any?) other books on related topics, this one is packed with a wealth of information, and very professionally researched, organized and edited! Well done, Laurie! For just about two years now, I've had my own, semi-private " listing " of what I'd call the Essential Elements of Health; I knew that somehow, someone (B. Moe?) had written these down at a conference in some exotic land years ago, and sent them to me when I'd inquired. What a delight it was to find on p. 10 one of the sidebars entitled: " Fundamental Elements of Health – Are You Thriving or Surviving? " , listing the 32 Elements. Later in the book somewhere, Doug states something to the effect that while he consider them all fundamental, he considers the top ten " essential " . Grand fun! I was wondering what the " tone " of the book was going to be, and had that quickly resolved on p. v: * " DEDICATION* With fondest respect, I dedicate this book to my friend and mentor, The late T.C. Fry. When I gave the eulogy at Terry's memorial service, I promised that his memory would live on. My life, and this book, are testaments to that intention. May his work continue to influence people for the better until living healthfully becomes a normal and natural part of every person's life. " (as many of you know, T.C. Fry was the primary author and organizer of the Life Science Health System - see post 1481 and others for more information on some of T.C.'s work.) (Special Bob note: and on this same page, in my copy of the book is found this hand inscription: " Bob - Live in Health D. Graham " ) And I again had a " glimpse " into the book's intentions on p. 11, with: * " This radically different view is unpopular, because it does not generate any revenue. The 80/10/10™ approach uses no repeat products, no supplements, no high-priced, elitist 'superfoods'. 80/10/10 uses a simple grocery-store approach to nutrition that brings this program easily into the grasp of everyone. " * Ahh…I was liking it already! How refreshingly honest!** (Bob note: I'll say it once here: Doug has put a Trademark on each of the following: *80/10/10™*, *80/10/10RV™*,*811™*, and *811RV*™) Initially, I had mixed reactions to this, and listening to Doug's explanation during our audio teleconference/interview with Doug, he explained it well. At least two (2) of our group members are listed in the personal success stories section: Valerie Mills Daly and Laurie Masters (there may be others: if so, I apologize for any omission!) I give the book high praise, it'll become a " classic " , and I recommend it highly. While you'll note that Elchanan and I don't recommend reading a lot of books, this is one I'd recommend. And, in closing, on the teleconference #9, Doug answered several other questions about the book. Have fun! Enjoy! Happy New Year!
