Guest guest
In response to my inquiry about curing diabetes, several people wrote that the reason for insulin resistance is that fat is coveringn the cells and preventing the insulin from doing its job. Since we all need some fat (good fats like olive oil etc) what is the best way to remove the fat from cells? is there natural vitamin or herb that will do this? any ideas? Guest guest
The issue is the blood fat level. I have seen what happens when someone eats, say, oil-packed tuna, or some oily salad dressing, or the like, then undergoes a blood test. The test tube often contains more oil than blood! When blood fat is elevated, sugar (glucose) is not readily transported from the blood and into the cells, where it would serve as fuel. The body then perceives elevated blood sugar and accelerates insulin production, invoking activity of the adrenals and pancreas. Now, if this occurs occasionally (say, once a month), no harm done. But when this occurs continually, 24x7, as in most Americans these days, eventually the adrenals and pancreas become exhausted and can no longer regulate the blood sugar, even in emergency (fight-or-flight) mode. At this point, the options are yeast (e.g., Candida), which will SAVE your life for awhile, or coma, death, etc. Type 2 diabetes is entirely of human creation and therefore entirely subject to human resolution. What is needed is to cut fat intake to less than 10% of calories, 7 days a week, for the rest of your life. The ONLY way I know to do this is to adopt a high water-content, low-fat, low-protein diet, one consisting of fruits and greens and little else. This is what our species is designed to eat and process easily; such a diet provides maximum nutrition for minimum effort (in digestion, assimilation, elimination). Also, the presence of elevated Candida levels in one's system reflects chronic elevated blood fat, nothing more. One cannot kill all the Candida, nor would this even be a good idea; Candida are a natural part of the internal ecosystem. The only issue is to what extent they flourish. Candida, as all organisms, are opportunistic in nature -- they go where there is food. When we overload our systems with fat, we overload our blood with sugar, as explained above. Candida simply see food and move in. The solution is so simple ... cut the fat. An excellent resource in this regard is Doug Graham's recently released book, The 80/10/10 Diet, available through his Web site, www.foodnsport.com. An excellent group in which to learn about this approach to diet, and much more, is the PathOfHealth group. Guest guest
Give up all animal products: milk, meat (poultry, fish, beef, pork, ALL), yogurt, butter, ice cream, keifer..... Then eat only raw fruits and vegetables with a smattering of nuts and a few sprouts thrown in. Shari
