Guest guest
One note from my personal experience: when I started eating raw I craved fats and needed to eat them to feel full I know some people say to eat low fat to make diabetes go away, but I hadn't heard of that back then! what I had heard is that you need the healthy fats in order to melt away the unhealthy fats, and it sounded good to me! There was some scientific explanantion I don't recall now about lipase or something. Anyway, I tend to follow my body's signals and am not sure if that is always helpful or not and I am by no means in perfect health, but I ate lots of avocadoes in the beginning, some times 2 or 3 a day and I ate a high fat salad dressing with Olive Oil (Bariani..i.e. unfiltered) and I ate coconut etc... I lost lots of weight (30 lbs) and have kept it off for the most part. I occasionally overdo the almond milk now and will regain 5-10 lbs and have to cut back again, but my blood sugars which I check every 3 months or so stay in the high 90s to low 100's, despite my extensive use of Agave Nectar and fruits. I cannot tolerate honey though and can't tolerate carrot juice very much or I don't " feel " right. Haven't checked to see how it affects my blood sugar, but I have a feeling that's what feels bad! You'll have to experiment and see what you can tolerate and what foods feel good to you. Initially you'll have detox and it can be confusing what is detox symptoms (good signs) and what is " food that doesn't agree with you " but in time, you'll learn to hear your body! You're on the right track and pat yourself on the back for that!!! Denise
