Guest guest
I am extremely interested in adapting the raw way of life. My only issue is that preparing raw meals seems to be extremely time consuming. Does anyone know about any good time saving recipes? Thanks
Guest guest
Try checking out any 80/10/10 info and 'preparation' ideas -- you couldn't get simpler (is that a word?) than peeling a banana or slicing an apple -- or the variations on that... That being said I think this 'cereal' preparation came from Dr. Graham - chop or grate 1 apple into a bowl add a few plumped raisins and top w/banana milk (made by placing 1 banana in a blender w/1/2cup of COLD water & whirl) Yummmmmmmy! rawfood , " kikirico2001 " <kikirico2001 wrote: > > I am extremely interested in adapting the raw way of life. Guest guest
Hello, welcome! I live at the Tree of Life and eat at the cafe... but I went raw in OH working a 9-5 making my own food (and I'm just about to go back to being on my own, making my own food.) Here is what I did (and will probably do again... as I am just about to relocate this weekend to Columbus OH... walking distance from an organic co-op!) After work I eat some E3Live liquid frozen algae, then workout. Then I pull ingredients from the fridge (each meal has, like, 4 categories: 1. Greens, like kale, collards, an/or romaine. 2. A fat source: avo, olives, or sunflower seeds, etc. 3. Sweet fruit: an apple or pear, etc. 4. Non-sweet fruit like tomatoe, cukes, and/or okra, etc.. 5. Herbs, spices, sea salt, garlic, etc. Then make 2 piles... one goes in the blender and gets blended for a nice green dinner soup (spirulina or chlorella is good added to a green smoothy) and the other goes in a big bowl to take to work for lunch the next day (olive oil and a squeeze of lemon is an easy dressing!) You'll have everything prepared your green smoothy drank, your lunch in the fridge for the next day, and the dishes done all with in 30 min or so! Then for breakfast I eat some E3 then make a smoothy with fruit, coconut oil or avo. and spirulina, maybe some E3 added to smoothy. Take cacao and gogi or nuts and fruit for a mid morning snack! Sweet! Easy, fast, simple! Let me know how I may be of service! Peace! Love! Shawna On 1/9/07, kikirico2001 <kikirico2001 wrote: > > I am extremely interested in adapting the raw way of life. I keep a bowl of fruit on the kitchen table. That's always handy. For my greens, I'll generally pick up a bundle of romaine and another bundle of something else, sometimes a bag of spinach. I tear that stuff up, wash it, spin it, stuff it in a big sealable bowl, and that's my salad base for three or four days. I cut up peppers, onion, shredded carrots, whatever, and put that in smaller containers to add to my individual servings. Throwing greens into a bowl, adding extras and dressing takes about as much time as pouring a bowl of cereal. Chewing and swallowing, however, that takes some time. Lately, I like wasabi peas in my salad. I don't think they're raw, but it's a nice flavor. David King
