Guest guest
Making raw meals can be time consuming. When I made my raw cheese cake it took me 2 hours and I have to prep some things 1 hour in advanced. If you work full time then it can be a challenge. Sometimes having a dehydrator that can be reliable to have on all day while your gone so you can have something ready by dinner is a bonus but I always looked at it this way, our generation's pace of life is WAYYYY too fast. What happened to mom taking over 1 hour to make supper with the powder all over her clothes because she baked desert to have in time after diner. Maybe old fashioned but I look at it like that. Sloooow down, if possible. I have slowed down my life style since cooking for my self. It may take an hour to make a meal then 3 hours to wait for it to be ready but when it is done hopefully you enjoy it as much as it was fun making it. To get back to using our hands to create something special for our selves is much better than a 8 min microwave ready meal It will come with time. Soon you will know recipes off the top of your head and you can prep things smoothly. I still hang recipes on my fridge magnets.
Guest guest
One thing I bought to make things faster in the kitchen is the Vadalia Chop wizzard. You can buy it on line, or you can buy it in most kitchen gadget stores. Mine cost only $20 and is worth twice that. I can dice an entire onion in 3 seconds. I did a whole bag of carrots in 30 seconds. I did a whole stalk of celery in 45 seconds. entire red pepper in 30 seconds.....apples in seconds, etc. I then store them all in water (changing water every other day) and I make my salads when I am hungry in 5 min or less. this little device saves tons of chopping and slicing time. You ought to see how fast it goes through mushrooms...wow! I highly recommend it to anyone who hates to stand there with a knife and cutting board..... (I'm FREE!!! wooo) Cleans up really easy too! Guest guest
Was wondering if you have tried tomatoes? It says it will do them, but I'm wondering if they would be too squishy. Glad to hear it works, I've been intrigued by that toy. Most any kitchen toy attracts me! Thanks, Shari
Guest guest
LOL..I will be trying it on some tomatoes tomorrow, so I will let you know.. I love the way it does peppers. I always had a hard time dicing peppers...and with one push on the lid wooosh and they are diced! Excellent! I will post tomorrow about tomatoes!
