Any Veggie That You Cannot Eat Raw???

Hi Helen,

Some people eat just about anything raw. While I like to hear from

others, and to read " information " about what the best foods are for us

to eat, I also like to use my senses and consider what I might do in

nature and what I could eat without " equipment " to process it. I know

for sure that fruit appeals to me in many ways and feels good when I

eat it. Certain veggies are sometimes appealing and taste and feel

good eaten raw. Many I would not desire--for example, I wouldn't want

to bite into an onion if I found it in the wild.

Nora Lenz has a good chart of optimal foods, if you're interested--

check out her web site at www.rawschool.com.

All that said, there are many times I do eat non-optimal foods, but at

least I like to know what's best and what I'm aiming for.

Hope that helps.

I think there may be some things that should be prepared a certain way like

maybe some nuts should be soaked but as far as veggies, I don't know any that

should not be eaten raw. I think maybe potato's onions and garlic maybe could

upset someone's tummy if they are not used to eating them raw but I always

wondered about green beans because of their tough fuzzy skins. I didn't know how

well the body digest them. I am going to buy some today when I get groceries and

I am going to see how well they would be in my belly. I personally love them and

they would make a great salad.

Since I was a little kid, I've always preferred green beans raw! I

think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

The only things that I can think of not to eat raw are potatoes and

artichokes. But that's just off the top of my head. One thing I've

found is that some veggies that I've NEVER cared for (cooked) are

fabulous when they are raw!

Yeah, which book? Maybe I have it and just overlooked the recipe. I'm

curious to see what it's like!

I'll have to look. It might have even been in a class eons ago. I've been

associating with her for about 10 years now and who knows when I picked up that

recipe!

Am running off to cater a lunch for 30 folks - 100% raw and 90% organic! We'll

see how they like it. Will report back later.
