Guest guest
Hey everyone! I too would love some ideas and tips on fruit roll ups. I work in las vegas (on vacation in florida right now, and loving it). But like I said, I work in las vegas and I am walking and in my car all day, I do not have access to refridgerate things and the heat can play murder on fresh food. I have room for a very very small personal size cooler that I keep with me, and carry with me and finding snacks to create or carry with me is very difficult. So Other than plain fruit, what kinds of portable, non messy snacks are available, to either dehydrate or mix up.... I dont have time to sit and eat an orange, and have found that I can not eat too many bananas, grapes are good, but I would like a little variety. So this thing with fruit leathers intrigues me, I tired to make apple ones once and it was a disaster to say the least...LOL. I have an excalibur and would like to make some portable snacks, so any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks! I bought at a health food store some coconut date rolls that were good, but I have no idea how to duplicate them, it was like a date paste, rolled in dried coconut and had few crushed almonds mixed in....anyone make anything similar? Food fight? Enjoy some healthy debate in the Answers Food & Drink Q & A.
Guest guest
My favorite ones that turned out like store bought are: In a processor puree 1 banana and 6 strawberries. This gives 1 roll up LOL I know. Maddening! I also like 1 apple and 6 strawberries pureed. It's important to keep apples the consistency of apple sauce because the texture wont be the same if its chunky! Dobby the house elf <dobeythehouseelf wrote: Hey everyone!
