Guest guest
As an adult survivor of child abuse, I avoid prologned contact with groups that promote teachings like 'The Secret,' Abraham-Hicks, and other new age teachers/teachings that inadvertently contribute to the breakdown of civil, just society by blaming the victim and spreading the lie that you can create your own (self-centered, apathetic, uncaring) reality without doing harm to others. We are all ONE and we need to rise higher in consciousness than these insidious teachings that are ruining the fabric of American society. Guest guest
Hello Dear ONE, I, also, am not so sure how useful the info in The Secret is to the creating of ultimate reality and helping to usher in the age of peace on Earth. My beloved spiritual teacher, Gabriel, explains that the secret type information does indeed work. But, if you ask for (or manifest) something that is not in alignment with what God (or whatever you want to call the ONE) wants, even if you get something seemingly positive, that it will be karmicly negative. It is important for those on a spiritual path to ascertain, through meditation and prayer, to develop a connection with the divine and to make decisions based from a place of unity with the divine (also called living your dharma, i.e. what ever it is that God wants you to be doing as opposed to what your ego wants. The ego/personality is simply the tool to be shaped into an instrument to fulfill your dharma.) The spiritual path is for those interested in liberation. The Secret seems to me to be a form of worship that may bring you your egos dreams... but are your personalities dreams that which is in alignment with the more ultimate truth of your reason to be here on Earth? We are all ONE. May Peace Prevail. Oh, I'm here because this is a rawfood group and I am a rawfoodist. I talk spirituality, because it is part of my created personality. Thanks for letting me be me and you be you as we are all ONE! FUN! To the original poster (and everyone!): YOU ARE LOVE and you are loved! RAW! Guest guest
Hello Sharrhan, I an sorry for the pain you feel. I'm not sure what you are referring too on this group but I am sure you feel you have a valid reason. The law of attraction indicates you will keep attracting groups that discuss the very thing you do not want as you place strong thoughts and emotions to push it away. This is the reason why you keep finding it on groups you join, create a painful email, quit, find another group, create a painful email, quit and on and on. I date a lady who was also abused as a child. It appears in a past life she had abused a child and never forgave herself. Part of the forgiveness was to be abused herself. Once she was aware of her thoughts she broke the cycle and is what one could refer to as " healed " . However in fact she was responsible for her own " healing " . She is the most giving wonderful person and no longer carried the pain as is so evident in your email. I wish you well in finding your " Healing " and may you be released from this cycle by whatever higher power you feel will grant it. It is important to remember that all things are good... some are just very painful. Release your hate and turn to love and you will attract the way otherwise you will continue to go down this path not only as a child and adult but a senior citizen and into more cycles of life. People here do love and care who you are and what you are feeling.. Guest guest
Shawna I have to agree with you, I come here for info about raw foods. The fact that by eating them I feel closer to my heavenly father has nothing to do with it. I have watched the secret and can only say that a power in the universe does exist, how we choose to use it is up to us. Having also been a survivor of childhood abuse, I do not feel that I brought that upon myself, but I know that the victimization I chose to live with for myself for a long time and I am very greatful to now feel that I can let it go and let God. If anyone is interested in this wonderful God given gift of creating in our lives according to our words then they may want to check out a book called The Game of Life by Florence Scovel Shinn. I just got it yesterday and it puts this all into a spiritual perspective. It can be found at www.devorss.com and is endorced by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. As a man thinketh so is he. Guest guest
Hi Donna, and All! So, like, one of the MA in Spiritual Vegan Live-Food Nutrition students did a rather large survey on rawfooders (2yrs plus and 80% or more raw) for her thesis project. The study showed that a significant number of people become more spiritually inclined after removing the fire from the food prep! (Rawfood authors had been saying this all along.) Contact the Tree for the exact details. But, yes, it is rather irregardless. I do dig watching movies like The Secret, tho,... mainly because I love to learn! I love to take the good (as far as what God wants for me) from the other than. I am totally reading The Power of Positive... by Peale! So, your book suggestion, " The Game of Life " , is so right on! Thanks! I'm also reading a book endorsed by Peale, " The Greatest Salesman in the World " ! It's so cute and fun! " The Greatest " was suggested to us by David Wolfe in his training for The Best Day Ever Team (David's network marketing team for the distribution of zeolite in which I'm a part.) Way fun! Nice conversation, Thank you! Guest guest
This is a very interesting discussion. I think certain things " trigger " different emotions to different people. There are some groups I don't feel comfortable with and I don't stay. I take all of the spiritual stuff with a grain of salt. I am here to get healthy. I still see my spiritual side as a completely different walk in my life, although I am very happy to find out more of all the wonderful foods that God has put on this earth for us to enjoy. There will be folks in every " group " or circle that believe things that I don't agree with and I am sure they won't agree with me! That is ok with me. As long as I get something else out of that group. For me, here, it is the foods and health.
