Guest guest
Hi All, This is my first post to this group. I joined to hopfully get motivation from you. I understand and agree with the whole raw food idea. But, I just really lack discpline at times.(WEll, more times off than on.) I have had 5 children in a span of 6 1/2 years, and allowed myself to become overweight. Now, that I see the error of my ways and still another 30 lbs. to go, it seems like a complete mountain. My husband, nor children have any intrest in this life style. I am a homeschooling mom, so I still have to prepare everyone elses meals. I feel so good when I stick to raw foods for a couple weeks and think, " Yea, this is great, I'm really going to stick to this for the rest of my life (this time). " And then I completely blow it!. Does anyone else know what I'm going through? I would covet any and all advice. I want to be that lean, firm woman again! Well ok, I'll settle for kinda lean...headed that way. HELP!! Guest guest
Hello, I am hsing 6 children too and am also trying to be 100% raw! About a year ago I went 100% raw for about 3 weeks and I felt sooo good. But addictions are strong and I have not done 100% since. Kids and dh like their cooked food and if I let myself get too hungry I am always snitching a bite or two. BUT... here comes the encouragement ...DH is starting to catch on, lately instead of buying pizza for a supper treat for the kids, he brings home all colors of peppers and cantelopes and strawberries and he slices it all up for them and he tells them they're having a feast! They do come to believe in the goodness of a raw lifestyle eventually. One of my daughters is always encouraging me to make good food choices and sometimes she goes raw for a week or two. Part of the raw food 'issue' for my kids is " Ah mom, we're already so weird - homeschooling, going to church on Sunday and NOW we have EAT weird too? " LOL But once they meet more raw foodies they will probably be more interested. I think that from all the things I have read to them that they are very aware of the health benefits -it's just overcomimg those addictions to cooked food and sugar. Guest guest
Welcome to the group Ronda I took gained weight from pregnancy. I was 125 when I was 20 and by the time I delivered my son when I was 21 I was 210lbs. It took me almost 2 years to get down to 134 lbs. Since being raw I have gained and I'm around 140 now. Raw can help.
