Guest guest
hello all.. well I am now on day two of 100% raw. the first day I spent trying to keep my stomach full, as fruits and veg don't stay there long, which is fine. I know that I am going to go through this and I'm prepared. one thing I want to say for definite is how alive I felt not long after eating salad and fruits. I could feel energy just flowing through me and it was great. I still have the same feeling today, but today I can honestly say I feel awful. I have a slight headache at the top back part of my head. my neck feels stiff, my lower back aches, and both knees hurt too.. now, to be fair, this could be from other things like me going shopping yesterday for example, and tossing and turning all last night. plus 2 out of 3 of my kids are down with a cold in which they have fevers, and severe head and body aches, so I could very well be coming down with that although I really hope not. has anyone else experienced this when they went totally raw? and if so, roughly how long before you get out of the doldrums and start feeling good? I'm not going to let this kick my ass or anything.. I've read enough to know and understand that detoxing is inevitable. I have done plenty of detoxing in the past few months. I stopped smoking for good and all on Nov 2nd last year, stopped eating meat in December last year, went vegetarian, then vegan, but still didn't feel quite right. I gave up coffee recently when Connie said she gave up. I thought if she can give it up, so can I! so I did. and yesterday I went totally raw. so I'm no stranger to detox. but this is a little different. now I am eating just 2 kinds of food - fruits and vegetables, though more fruits than vegetables. the reason for that is because I understand that cooking kills everything and strips anything worthwhile and makes it not worth eating. and let's be honest, there are some veggies out there that don't exactly go down well uncooked. I'm sorry but this is just honesty for you. just to give a rough idea of what I'm eating, so far this morning, I've had 10 goji berries, half a gala melon and an orange. yesterday I ate mixed lettuce with hummus, of which today I will be making a fresh homemade batch - mine is totally raw, as I don't cook the chickpeas - and I saw a picture of some fresh salsa and had to have some, so I made it using 1 red bell pepper, 1 tomato, 1 red onion, and a section of cucumber. I added a little bit of salt, cracked black pepper, garlic powder, mild and hot chili powder, cumin, a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, and a few shakes of extra virgin olive oil. ideally, I would have added some fresh chopped cilantro too and have allowed that to marinate for some while, but I didn't, and therefore it was a little overpowering, so next time, maybe I'll go alot easier. not that I went overboard. so there you go. other than that, I have been eating the odd banana, oranges, and melon today, plus salad. through doing all this, I am trying to see food in a different light. initially, all this came to be simply because I wanted to find a means of getting rid of my rosacea without having to take antibiotics forever and ever amen. I ended up speaking to someone online whob said he was a doctor, and said I should do a liver cleanse and use neem on my face. and from there, I eventually ended up completely changing the way I eat. I believe I have the willpower to finally beat this. I have been having some mad craves over the past couple days, and I'm assuming this is also part of the detox. anyone? Elchanan Sir? what are your thoughts? thanks for listening YS Silver DD p.s. anyone want to partner up and help encourage each other along the path here?
