Glad you are safe and I'm so happy to " meet " you. The Big Island is on my list.

I have spent a lot of time on Maui and Kauai during the '70s and have been back

since, but The Big Island has always eluded my schedule!

Proteins exist in most raw foods espec. the dark greens, sea weeds, spirulina and

chlorella which I use daily.....also in the live sprouts and soaked sprouted

seeds also used daily

Loads of Mungbean sprouts...they are high in protein

love, light and lean muscle make for a beautiful bod inside and out

Hi James,

I've come to believe that excess protein is actually more of a

problem in the human diet then too little protein. I could talk

about this at some length, but let me just put a couple of thoughts

in your mind. I grew up like most American kids being taught I

needed meat at every meal to have strong muscles. I know think we

were mislead. Just think of the most muscular mammals on the

planet. Elephants, hippos, buffalo. They get all the protein they

need (and calcium too) from plants. I've also come to believe the

high rate of osteoporosis in the US is due to excess protein

consumption. If you're interested, here is a link to an article on

the topic by Dr. John McDougall.

Hi there. . .

I joined raw boot camp on Jan. 1 so have been there a month today. It is

exactly what I need with the accountability and support. I'm there for the

long term including stablizing and maintenance when I reach goal weight this

year. I'm really happy with the 14 pounds that I lost this month.

I believe someone on here had joined a raw food boot camp? I was

curious how that was going.

That is great Julie! Thanks for the response. It sounds like what I may need

also since I haven't had the greatest luck on my own.
