Guest guest
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I have attempted the Master Cleanse before with some modifications and failed to go more than 3 days! The modifications I made are: - that I used Raw Agave Nectar instead of Maple Syrup. I went on a raw food diet 3 years ago because of diabetes. If I ingest honey or maple syrup -or any kind of sugar besides agave or dates- I get that " buzz " that feels so uncomfortable and indicates to me that I am not supposed to eat such sweeteners. I looked at a nutritional analysis of agave and one of maple syrup and they seemed to have a lot of the same nutrients in them, so I thought I'd try it. But not only could I not sustain it for more than 3 days, but I got stomach aches from the lemonade unless I sipped it very slowly. Two friends of mine tried it with agave too and also got these stomach aches! - I capsuled the cayenne because I couldn't stand the taste, even in the minute ammounts it calls for. - I capsuled the salt for the flush because I gag if I try to drink salt water. Now I know that that doesn't cleanse me from mouth to stomach, but I figured cleansing the rest of the digestive tract was better than nothing. I assume the salt and water mix in my stomach, but I am not sure! I looked up the master cleanse in the files part of this group and it mentiooned diabetics should replace maple syrup with Blackstrap Molasses. I have never heard this before, so I am looking for some opinions here to confirm or deny this. I usually consider myself " healed " from diabetes and so I don't know if I really consider myself a " diabetic " but, regardless of labels, the fact remains that I do react uncomfortably to sweeteners other than agave and dates. What do you all think about me sweetening my lemonade with dates? I've only tried lemonade sweetened with maple syrup once and really didn't like the taste at all! Haven't tried it with molasses, but that doesn't sound very good either! What do you all think about capsuling the cayenne and the salt? OK, now I know there are those of you out there that will say to skip the master cleanse altogether and cleanse another way. So what do you suggest? Juice Fasting? My juicer is really slow and is difficult to clean (it's a Solostar II, I really don't recommend it!), so I am not very fond of the idea of juice cleansing, but I'll consider it. I don't like most vegetable juices though, I tolerate carrot (in small doses), apple, celery but can't stand beet, cabbage and most greens. Any suggestions? I am open to skipping the master cleanse, although I'd love ideas on how to use up the 80 lemons in my fridge that I bought right before the prices of citrus went up after the california freeze! Thanks in advance to all of you who take the time to answer questions on this forum! Blessings, Denise
Guest guest
Well obviously if the agave gives you the stomach cramps with this it is not good for you this way. When you tried the maple syrup did you try the kind just off the shelf or did you go to the health food store and get the " C " grade that has the more nutrients? If you cannot handle the maple syrup then your next best substitute would be the molases since it has all that wonderful iron. No matter what you can use up the lemons by just having your lemon juice in the morning in a cup of warm water. It is an excellent wake up drink. I myself prefer a water fast to a juice fast because it cleanses me faster and I don't have to make anything. It was said in some of the books I have read (and thats alot so I don't remember which) that a water fast of 3-4 days will cleanse as much as a 10 day juice fast. You mentioned that you had a tendency toward diabetic, I am hypoglycemic and I find that I have less reactions as far as that goes with a water fast. I think it must stabalize my sugars by the first day because after that I don't experience any problems with it. If you decide on a juice fast you may want to try granny smith apples with a touch of ginger. For somereason this does not effect my hypoglycemia where just plain apple juice will. My best suggestion would be to look inside yourself and see what just feels right to you, then follow your instincts instead of your head. --- denisedthomas <denised> wrote: > Does anyone have any suggestions for me? > I have attempted the Master Cleanse before with some > modifications and failed to go more > than 3 days! > The modifications I made are: > - that I used Raw Agave Nectar instead of Maple > Syrup. Guest guest
I would suggest you not do the master cleanse. Your body is telling you it doesn't like it. Whey not just eat whole fruit? If you eat simple whole fruit meals that is way better than master cleanse or juice.
