Guest guest
Hi there, Someone was asking about L'equip vs the vitamix - I used to have a l'equip and now live with someone who owns a vitamix. L'equip is ok but really doesn't compare to the vitamix in terms of strength. It's not even that much quieter than the vitamix considering how much less powerful it is. And the vitamix does the job much more quickly too, so you might not use a whole lot more power. The l'equip doesn't blend nuts/seeds as finely when making nut milks/pates and also doesn't blend the greens up as well for green smoothies. I also had some issues with mine - had to send it back because the variable speed knob stuck on zero when I'd only had it a very short time, making it impossible to use! And it cost a lot to send back! It's not quite so sturdily built - I felt that if I'd spent twice as much and gotten a vitamix, that would have lasted more than twice as long. Hope this is some help! love Ela 'False gold only exists because there is such a thing as the real' (Rumi) ______________________________\ ____ Don't get soaked. Guest guest
I have two L'Equips (one at home and one at work) and one VitaMix that lives in the cabinet when it isn't being used to grind up compost. I am sold on my L'Es. They are easier to clean, both inside and out. I've had no problem blending nuts to a smooth consistency or making yummy smoothies with greens. The VitaMix tends to throw the contents around a lot but I can make a smoothie in the L'E without the lid and add the greens progressively which would be impossible with the VitaMix. One other thing, I did have a problem with the blade assembly peeling (not the blades but the part under the blades). You can read about my experience here: http://reallyrawfood.com/forum/index.php?topic=133.0 Have a wonderful day!
