I want to purchase a nut milk bag. Is there any reason to get more

than one? Raw food world has 1 or 3 for a lesser price. Do they

last for awhile? Are they easy to clean? I have been buying almond

milk and I feel like this is the next step for me in trying to get

off all processed foods.

Thanks for any help.

I have never used a nut bag. I buy cheese cloth. Works awsome. You can even

squeeze it without worry. And when your done, toss it away. Usually cheese cloth

comes with a lot. Mine lasts me for more than a month and I use it for many

things.

In my experience, once you have one, you will find a reason to use

more than one.

If you are making sprouts in a sprout bag, you can make more than

one batch at a time if you have more than one bag.

You can make nut milk while you are making sprouts in another bag.

I use my bags to top jars of rejuvelac-in-the-making (I will need the

bags to drain and strain the rejuvelac).

while I am making the rejuvelac, I can be making sprouts.

I can be making nutmilk.

I have three sprout bags.

(when I bought them, I thought they looked like a major rip-off, but

then I realized that I am not willing to sew my own, so then they

turned into a good deal. I bought 3 my sprout bags on ebay for about $10.)

Mine have lasted quite a while. if you rinse them out right away, it

is easier than rinsing out underwear.

Maybe before buying a nut milk bag, visit your local hardware or paint

supply store and take a look at the fine mesh nylon paint strainer

bags. I've been using a one-gallon size for nut milk and it seems to

work ok.

I have always used a cloth diaper (the kind without

the extra insert padding sown in. One pack of them

have lasted for about 10 years and you just throw them

in the washer.

Well, I think it's always an excellent idea to have a back-up, because you will

pay shipping

if it's something you have to buy online. Why pay shipping twice, and have to go

through

the ordering twice? I bought one last year and within about 6 months it did get

a little hole

in it. Now I look out for the whole when I make nutmilk, but I will probably buy

another

one when I can.

I just rinse it out with filtered water right after using it.

It's incredibly easy to make almond milk rather than buying it. I was where you

are at, too,

last Jan. Because going completely raw was too much at once, buying the almond

milk was

a good step (I had been used to soy milk).

But now I just eat a banana for breakfast. Occasionally I eat soaked oat groats,

but the

banana is just so much easier! And I don't need any " stuff " to make it edible

like agave or

cinnamon.
