Glycemic Load, NOT Glycemic Index (WAS: U.S. Government Glycemic index (useful for minimizing glucose reserves while dieting))

Hi everybody,

I will be brief ... the Glycemic Index, while popular, does NOT provide the

information many people think it provides. For that information, you must

look into another set of values, called Glycemic Load. This whole Glycemic

Index thing is leading many people into very misguided dietary choices.

What' the issue? The Glycemic Index doesn't take into account the AMOUNT of

sugars in a given food!!! The Glycemic Load DOES take this into account, and

therefore provides MUCH more accurate and therefore useful information to

guide one's dietary choices.

Don't be misled because masses of people are touting this, it's the wrong

tool to use!!! Period!

And as I wrote several days ago, there are no " glucose reserves " this is

physiological nonsense, no matter what book or teacher or government report

speaks of it. Also, dieting (for weight loss) is always a self-destructive

act.

There is only ONE way to create health ... from the inside, out!!!

Best to all,

Elchanan

The U.S. government Glycemic index is listed in the link to the article

below. High Glycemic values also have the price of fluctuation in metabolism

as well as disorganization of digestive enzymes, and negatively impacting

fat loss, which is another reason to minimize shopping for carbohydrates of

this type.
