Guest guest
I have been reading about it as I am looking at what to buy. Wow! This thing is more than 3HPs! Do I need that???? I am not sure. The idea sounds great.....eating avacado pits, pulverizing apricot pits into liquid, etc..... Anyway, just curious about opinions. dawn
Guest guest
Hi Dawn, For me this is a very simple. I would divide the question into 2 parts: - What to eat: If you cannot eat a thing without refining it, then I suggest not eating it. This would cover the avocado pits, etc. - What to own: I'd want to know how noisy this machine is. 3 HP is a LOT of power!!! And I'd want to know how to clean it, etc., just the " usual " practical questions. In other words, don't let enthusiasm over one feature pull your attention away from the rest of your inquiry. Just thoughts, Elchanan _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of KenyaMK Wednesday, February 07, 2007 11:53 AM rawfood [Raw Food] Has anyone seen/used/bought the new Vitamix machine, the VP3? I have been reading about it as I am looking at what to buy. Wow! This thing is more than 3HPs! Do I need that???? I am not sure. Guest guest
Very good questions to ask. I honestly have NO idea if I would even *want* to try liquifying an avacado pit, but the idea of it being able to actually do it is interesting. I will admit I am a gadget freak and can get carried away with wanting the most powerful/coolest new thing out there when it comes to the kitchen! You are right to ask questions before jumping in with both feet. Thanks, Dawn rawfood , " Elchanan " <Elchanan wrote: > > Hi Dawn, > For me this is a very simple. Guest guest
I was curious, so I went to Vitamix.com, but I did not see such a machine. I keyed VP3 into a search but came up with nothing. Not that I am going to buy a new machine.... mine does all those things you said... if I ask it to. Guest guest
Hmm, well apparently my brain felt the need to subconsciously figure out a way to utilize this " new feature " . Pits don't compost that well, perhaps the ability to grind them up means better composting options? I agree, can't say I have any yearning to pulverize pits for use in anything, but I guess if my neighbors don't straighten up, perhaps......<wicked smile>...oh, not really. <smile> Kendra dawn wrote: > I have been reading about [the new vitamix] as I am looking at > what to buy. I think the Champion and the Green power machines are good juicers. I would suggest if you get a juicer too, to have one with the blank screen, so that you can homogenize frozen fruits, nuts, vegies. It is really useful in making raw food. Iris

Guest guest
A friend of mine at work recently bought one and she is SOOO happy! My $100 KitchenAid recently experienced some issues blending beans into a thick hummus (sorry, not raw). The base was shaking and the blender was moving across the table and making a racket. Then it started to smell a little. It still lives on, but I think I may be in the market (yet again!) sooner than I would have expected with a $100 machine, which I thought was a definite step up from the $30 throw-aways I usually get. -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog rawfood , Shay Butter <sheabuddah wrote: > > Has anyone see the infomercial on the jack lalanne blender?
