Guest guest
Hi everybody, I decided that i wanted to fast because i m not hungry and i want to try to regenerate my body trough a long fast. I already fast 2 or 3 time in my life the last time was 5 days in january 2006. I felt quite confortable, but i didnt wait for the real hunger to come back and this time i would like to fast till the return of this real hunger. I red few books about it and red all the articles about it on the website rawfoodexplained. But the only thing that remain a question is that i work about 10 hours a day 5 days a week and i cycle to work so i am very active during the week. I will rest a maximum the night and the week end. But my sister did a fast of three weeks two years ago and avoid an sinus operation (and she succeed and cure herself) but she was very weak and sleeping all the time at the end and really really skiny. So I don t know if i will be able to go till the end because i won t be able to sleep during the day when i work. Has anyone any experience in this area ? Guest guest
Hi Alix, If you are talking about a long water fast (eating nothing and drinking nothing but water), it is only recommended that you do this under the supervision of a qualified fasting expert. Also, you should definitely not try to work full time while doing a water fast. You need to rest while your body is cleansing. Why don't you just eat really simply for awhile if you feel the need for some deeper cleansing? Eating mono meals of mostly juicy fruit and avoiding overt fats will be very cleansing and will allow you to continue with your normal schedule. Take care! Guest guest
Hi Alix!, TheJuice Feasting is specifically designed to allow cleansing to completion for working people. Here is a link to my friends blog... she's in her last week of a 92 day juice feast, http://rawreform.blogspot.com/ Here are the guidelines she is following (this is a feast, not fast, and " allows " small amounts of specific foods and massive amounts of juice to sustain energy levels during the long duration): http://www.rawreform.com/content/view/271/ This feast is designed by David Rain, MA graduate in Vegan Live-Food Nutrition and research assistant to Dr. Cousens. http://www.nutrientdensenutrition.com/ I hope this helps. I look forward to feasting, myself and training to be a Feast Coach. Fun! Blessings! Guest guest
I will occasionally do a 3 day water fast and have found that I am energized. Unfortunately I am not always able to take off work. I don't always eat raw (sometimes fruit only), but always do for @ least 30 days before the water fast. Guest guest
Alix, Its going to be very difficult to fast while working 50 hours a week plus all the physical exertion of cycling to work. The point of going on a water fast is to get total physiological rest, so that the body can heal itself. Working this much and having this much activity will defeat the benefit of a water fast. Its best just to eat very simply, on only whole organic fresh ripe fruits and greens, until you can find the space to take time off from work and allow yourself the full benefit of a water fast and its associated physiological rest.
