Guest guest
Thanks, again for all your guidance in my search for a juicer. There are a lot around, all the 2000+. No one can tell me if this is the professional model or domestic. Some of you said it was important to get the professional. Is there really that much difference? Online the price difference is only $20, but they are a lot more than local. I have found them locally, brand new for as little as $199. Any thoughts? I have had too many bad experiences with Ebay and just don't want to go that route. Thanks, again. Guest guest
A professional model is always the best bet for a raw vegan since we juice a lot more often then then normal SAD diet person out there. These models are made for a lot of use and can stand up to the job well. " Hank@MT " <hank wrote: Thanks, again for all your guidance in my search for a juicer. There are a lot around, all the 2000+. Guest guest
Hi Tammy, I use and test all variety of veg prep equipment. For what the Champion is good for, it is the best. What is it good for? Making veg pates, frozen banana and fruit " ice cream " , grinding seeds (with the grain mill attachment). It does a pretty good job juicing most things (NOT wheat grass). On the things it juices the pulp isn't as dry as it would be on a machine like a green power, but you can use the pulp for other stuff and green power type thing SUCKS unless you are juicing a ton of wheat grass. The green power things are a big pain to assemble, disassemble and clean (real heavy too). If you juice soft stuff in a green power it will back up the feed chute and applesauce consistency stuff will get all over everything. The Omega is an OK compromise between a Campion and a green power. It all depends on what you want to use the thing for. I have about 20 juicers and have tried them all for the purpose of deciding what to sell in my new store. I'm not a fan of separating juice from the fiber, so I don't personally keep a machine for that in my kitchen and on wheat grass juice, I find it way more convenient to simply buy it frozen. In my kitchen the must have machines are the Champion (more powerful one, with grain mill), Food processor, most any work & any with a continuous discharge chute are better, a powerful blender with variable speed, unfortunately Vita Mix has this pretty well locked up (at the moment). Other must have (for me) stuff are ceramic knives (DON'T use a glass cutting board), a variety of peelers (I have 20 for testing), a V blade mandolin slicer (ALL the straight or single angle ones don't work well regardless of price) Unfortunately the V blade one doesn't have a hand guard as good as I want, so I will be making one soon. Also indispensable is a good spiral vegetable slicer that can make angel hair, spaghetti, linguini or ribbon cuts of various vegetables. On the spiral slicer the top crank handle ones are pathetic and the white plastic one is pretty bad too. So I had a better one made and everyone I gave one to is chasing me for more, so I'll make the first production batch in about a month. Tell me exactly what you want to use a juicer for and I'll tell you what I think the best choice would be. Mark
