>In fact it was just reported in the news that anti-oxidant supplements actually

DECREASE >life expectancy!

Well if it was in the mainstream news then it is definitely true. That's where

I get all of my information ;o)

>That's because anything that comes in a pill form like that is a drug and

bodily poison, no >matter how " natural " it is claimed to be - even herbal

supplements.

Joe, did you know that all vegetables are really herbs? Are you saying that if

you take some parsley or red pepper, crush it and put it in a capsule, it's a

poisonous drug? Did you know that tomatoes (actually a fruit) and many

vegetables/herbs contain toxin? Do you consider them poisonous as well?

I consider supplements just another technology which can be good or bad

depending on how they are used. I try to consider the overall benefits vs

drawbacks of any technology before blessing it or demonizing it. Technology can

help us deal with the un-natural circumstances and environment we find ourselves

in.

For instance, let's say that our body is completely overwhelmed with toxins

we've ingested from the environment and now we have prostate cancer. Technology

has proven that the lycopene in tomatoes will neutralize the effect of these

toxins but we would have to eat 10 lbs of tomatoes every day to get the amount

of lycopene to do the job. I would want all the help I could get and would take

the lycopene. Of course I wouldn't just rely on lycopene I would continue raw

foods, do fasting, meditation/visualization and any other therapy/technology I

could get my hands on.

Just thought I'd play devil's advocate.

Yeah, this is all mostly semantics...its getting tiring.

Veggies are herbs and herbs can be thought of as drugs and drugs can

be poisonous and poisons can be cleansed with more veggies and herbs

and drugs and poisons...etc etc etc. I get all that. Taking too much

of certain herbs CAN kill you too, so yes, sometimes veggies (as

herbs) can be bad for you, but only if you're some crazed lunatic

eating a ton of it for some reason. If you get a deficiency in

something, then fine, take something for it, but taking too much of

the supplement is NOT good either. You could also eat properly and

get the same effect. It's all about balance.

But, please, no one can disagree that a diet of raw food is best for

you, and you wouldn't ever need supplementation if you ate the right

things at the right times and the foods were produced in healthy soil

etc etc etc. Did I cover all the bases? Is this not a raw food

group? Can we all agree that raw foods are best?

Thanks for all your help in the nuances of supplementation etc etc

etc. I'm done with this :) hahaha

Cheers!

Joe
