Guest guest
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yg4WxNEFBE & feature=player_embeddedWE'RE ALMOST THERE! Estimates are that a personal phone call has 1000 times the impact of a petition and 10 times a personal letter. PLEASE help us pass this law in California! If this passes in California, other states will follow. Let's stop the killing of innocent, unwanted dogs and cats! PLEASE CROSS POST!NO MATTER WHAT STATE YOU LIVE IN-PLEASE CALL AND MAKE YOUR VOICE KNOWN BECAUSE THE BREEDERS ARE FIGHTING THIS AND WE NEED TO RESIST THEM!!!2009 CALIFORNIA SHELTERS:FROM JANUARY 1 TO JULY 2009SIX MONTHS ALONE!!!FROM JANUARY 1, 2009 TO JULY 2009:PETS KILLED IN CA SHELTERS: 256,591 IN SIX MONTHSTAXES SPENT TO HOUSE AND KILL FROM JANUARY TO JULY 2009:$..128,141,994.00 IN SIX MONTHS TIME!The euthanasia numbers above do not include any of the private shelters in the state. Because of this, it may be assumed that a minimum of 500,000 pets are euthanized in California shelters each year. The increase in animals entering shelters and the tragic increase in euthanasia rates is due to:* People abandoning their pets because of financial problems* Accidental litters from unaltered pets* Over-breeding of dogs and cats* Stray dogs and cats reproducing SB 250 - The Final Hearing! SB 250 will be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, July 15th, in room 4202 at 9:00 am in S acramento. This is the final hearing - please come to the hearing if you can! Look how far we have come thanks to you: We need your help getting through this final committee. Please call the committee members from now until next Tuesday night. Dog & cat breeders and other animal industry lobbyists (CA Cattlemen's Association, CA Farm Bureau Federation, etc.) are out in force trying to kill both SB 250 and AB 241. Don't let them do it !! This is tough work for all of us. But the payoff will be a huge step for animal welfare in our state and will be reflected across the nation. The animals need us! 20 20 Assembly Appropriations Committee: Assemblymember Area Phone Kevin de Leon Chair Los Angeles 916-319-2045 Jim Nielsen Vice Chair Alturas, Anderson, Chico, Colusa, Orland, Red Bluff, Redding, Weed, Yuba City 916-319-2002 Tom Ammiano San Francisco 916-319-2013 Charles Calderon Downey, Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles, Montebello, Pico Rivera, Whittier, City of Industry 916-319-2058 Joe Coto San Jose 916-319-2023 Mike Davis Los Angeles 916-319-2048 Mike Duvall Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, La Habra, Orange, Placentia, Yorba Linda 916-319-2072 Felipe Fuentes North Hollywood, Pacoima, Panorama City, San Fernando, Sun Valley, Sylmar 916-319-2039 Isadore Hall Compton, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Paramount 916-319-2052 Diane Harkey Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, Oceanside 916-319-2073 Jeff Miller Corona, Mission Viejo, Norco, Rancho Santa Margarita, and parts of Orange, Santa Ana, Tustin, Anaheim 916-319-2071 John Pérez Huntington Park, Los Angeles 916-319-2046 Nancy Skinner Albany, Berkeley, El Cerrito, Kensington, Lafayette, Moraga, Oakland, Orinda, Pleasant Hill, Richmond, San Pablo 916-319-2014 Jose Solorio Santa Ana & parts of Anaheim and Garden Grove 916-319-2069 Audra Strickland Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Simi Valley, Los Angeles, Moorpark, Ojai, Fillmore, Santa Paula 916-319-2037 Tom Torlakson Antioch, Clayton, Concord, Hercules Pinole, Martinez, Pittsburg 916-319-2011 When you reach someone 0A (or leave a message), simply say: "Hello, my name is <your name>, and I am calling to ask that the Assemblymember PLEASE SUPPORT SB 250 The Pet Responsibility Act in Committee on Wednesday." < then add your own comments > If you have not yet filled out an automatic letter, please do so at www.YESonSB250.com ....and AB 241 will be heard in the Senate Committee on Public Safety on TUESDAY, JULY 14th in room 4203 at 9:30 am in Sacramento Look how far we have come thanks to you: Many of you called previously before the AB 241 hearing was rescheduled.
