Monday, July 13, 2009 Last Chance for Animals (LCA) urges you to take a few minutes and make some very important phone calls, for the animals! SB 250-The Pet Responsibility Act will be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 and AB 241-The Responsible Breeder Act will be heard in the Senate Committee on Public Safety on Tuesday, July 14, 2009! PLEASE MAKE A CALL TODAY TO SUPPORT THESE TWO IMPORTANT PIECES OF LEGISLATION! SB 250 The Pet Responsibility Act is a common sense, fiscally responsible method for reducing California's tragic, expensi ve pet overpopulation crisis. For more information on SB 250, please Click here to make calls for SB 250! AB 241 The Responsible Breeder Act of 2009, limits these cruel puppy mills in a reasonable way, by simply limiting owners and breeders to a maximum of 50 unaltered animals. Law enforcement reports that in our state, virtually no one has more than 50 unaltered animals unless they are running a puppy mill, or are an animal hoarder. For more information on AB 241, please Click here to make phone calls for AB 241 DON'T LET THE ANIMAL INDUSTRY LOBBYISTS WIN! The Assemblymembers mailboxes are FULL as of Sunday night! The puppy mills, dog and cat breeders, and big ag have been FLOODING the Assemblymembers with calls this past week! We must stop them! This is LANDMARK LEGISLATION! If this passes in California, other states will follow. PLEASE call the numbers below EVERY DAY until the vote on Wednesday. We're almost there! This is the FINAL HEARING! We need your help to stop the killing! The only way this law will pass is if we call! It doesn't matter what state you're in. PLEASE--make the calls and give a voice to the vo iceless!
