SOUTH KOREAN

DOG MEAT MARKET CLICK ON PICTURE ABOVE TO WATCH RECENT VIDEO OF WHAT IS HAPPENING IN SOUTH KOREA RIGHT NOW . . . . . . .

One American soldier who fought for South Korea 's independence commented: "This is not what my friends died to defend. "

Although eating dog meat was officially banned in 1991, people in South Korea still consume vast quantities of “Gaegogi†(literally: dog meat) the fourth most popular meat, after pork, beef and chicken. There is even an unofficial ‘holiday' known as 'Malbok' (August 17 in the Korean lunar calendar) when Koreans - mostly old men - eat lots of dog meat in the belief that it will boost virility. Others believe that dog meat helps keep one cool during the intense Korean summer. The South Korean government defends Gaegogi as "cultural food," and by equating the eating of dogs with eating farm animals, arguing that anyone who eats any meat has no moral right to complain about the eating of any animals, including dogs. Any person with ordinary intelligence knows that tortuting former family pets under the guise of

"culture" is a disengenuous argument and that there is a significant difference between eating farm animals specifically raised for food and torturing and eating former family pets who have lived with people as man's best friends. South Korea 's inability or unwillingness to acknowledge these differences has earned it our accusation that: SOUTH KOREA IS TO DOGS WHAT NORTH KOREA IS TO PEOPLE !! In July and August up to 2 million family pets are first tortured and then killed with hammers, suffocation, bleeding (blood-letting),hanging and in other horrific ways! They are squashed into cages like factory chickens, unable to stand, sit, turn. They are not given water in 100 degree heat. They are former family pets intentionally being tortured prior to being killed for food. Why torture? Because the dog meat dealers have fabricated reasons to eat dog meat with the myths that the secretion of hormones during bodily duress makes the meat more tender, and that eating dog meat helps people better cope with the summer heat and that it is an aphrodisiac. . . . . . .with no medical evidence in

support of any of these fabrications!
