Guest guest
PLEASE help us pass this landmark legislation! Call at night on your cell for free! The back yard breeders and puppy mills are fighting this. We need to stop them! In California, it is estimated that nearly a half million dogs and cats must be euthanized for lack of good homes annually! Animal control and sheltering operations cost California taxpayers approximately $250 million every year. Senate Bill 250, also known as the Pet Responsibility Act, still needs your support! If it becomes law, SB 250 would prohibit any person from owning any unaltered (unspayed or unneutered) cat or dog unless they have an unaltered-dog permit or keep unaltered cats strictly indoors. This legislation would save countless animals' lives and millions in taxpayer dollars. The California Legislature reconvenes from summer recess on August 17, and SB 250 could be voted on in the Assembly Appropriations Committee at any time. Please help this lifesaving bill pass the Assembly Appropriations Committee and get one step closer to becoming law by making a quick phone call to each of the California assembly members on the committee. Politely urge them to vote "Yes" on SB 250. Click here to find names and contact information for the assembly members. If any of the members of the committee represent your assembly district (see http://www.assembly.ca.gov/acs/acsframeset9.htm), be sure to mention your name and address and note that you are a constituent! All phone calls must be submitted for consideration as soon as possible. Also, kindly forward this message to others in California who might be willing to lend their voices to this important issue. Your call will mean the world to cats and dogs in need. Thank you for your compassion and immediate action for animals. Sincerely, Kristin DeJournett Cruelty Caseworker Cruelty Investigations Department People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals This e-mail was sent by PETA, 501 Front St., Norfolk, VA 23510 USA.
